<dv_> robclark: got a 410c. any recommendation for what embedded linux to use? yocto? archlinuxarm? what do you use for development?
<robclark> dv_: I use fedora, but mostly just because that is what I'm familiar with.. IIRC linaro should have some debian and yocto based release if either of those are what you are more comfortable with
<dv_> robclark: and I suppose I need to set the SD BOOT DIP switch to "ON"?
<dv_> since I want to put the OS on an SD card
<dv_> or is this known to be problematic?

<robclark> dv_: AFAIK sd boot should work.. the only quirky thing is that usb otg vs host modes are mutually exclusive (we have a dts hack for the db410c's in the CI farm to force host mode since they nfsroot w/ usb-eth adapter but also have otg plugged in for fastboot)

<dv_> robclark: I set the SD BOOT DIP to "ON", and yet, the 410c booted to Android (I suppose that one is installed on the eMMC)
<dv_> I'll try with the switch set to "OFF", though the manuals indicate that I need it set to ON
<dv_> unfortunately, I currently have no USB-UART adapter with 1.8V TTL signal support - I'll get one in 1-2 days
<robclark> I wouldn't be surprised if it fell back to booting from eMMC if it didn't find a boot partition on the sdcard? I suspect the dip sw just controls the priority order.. but uart adapter would be useful, since that should show fastboot msgs
<dv_> yeah.. I'll continue this once I get the adapter
<dv_> oh, and if you have the 410c running, can you check if in `/dev/snd/` you can see a device like `comprC1D0`?
<dv_> normally, you only find nodes like `pcmC0D10p` there. I am curious if one whose name starts with `compr` can be found there
