I'm working with an IM8MP based system and want to try to get archlinuxarm to run on it. The only vivante stuff in there is still for the imx6. Am I correct in thinking that the userspace part of the driver is still very much proprietary?
<SpieringsAE>
is there some way to check what the latest version is? because when I go to that link without the file extension it just gives me an error "page not found"

SpieringsAE: this channel is about the open source etnaviv stack not the closed source one. So use a recent kernel and a recent mesa and you should have something working.
<SpieringsAE>
ah cool there already is something in mesa?
<SpieringsAE>
that is very good to hear
<austriancoder>
SpieringsAE: for some years now

I'm pretty new to this chip still so I must have missed that, thanks anyway I will look into it!
<austriancoder>
On a recent distribution it should work out of the box
<SpieringsAE>
I think archlinuxarm should qualify as a recent distribution

Okay I'm back with one more question because I still see quite a bunch missing in the mainline kernel, I assume it is still required to run the linux-imx kernel? Stuff like galcore etc
