<cengiz_io> hello there! I'm a kernel person from canonical. I would like to ask a generic question about the state of io_uring in 5.15 kernel.
<cengiz_io> I sometimes see huge patches that replace all `io_uring` directory and also patch some other files as well. is this something common? I need to know because I'm trying to identify which commit introduced an issue and those merge/whole directory patches are making it harder.
<cengiz_io> since I'm a newbie about io_uring, maybe I'm missing something.
<axboe> the backstory is that 6.0 moved fs/io_uring.c and friends to io_uring/ and split it up into separate files
<axboe> 5.15-stable moved fs/io_uring.c to io_uring/io_uring.c just to make some stable backports easier, it didn't include the split-up into separate files and there was no functional changes from this rename operation
<axboe> so no, not common, and obviously a one-off thing
