<agl> Have a good day steev & jhovold :)
<jhovold> agl: thanks, you too
<agl> jhovold: Have you find the bug with the shutdown?
<jhovold> agl: no, I can't reproduce it here with mainline (or my wip) branch and haven't really had time to look into it
<agl> It is not urgent. I always boot 6.7.10 again and then shut down. This should be fixed at some point in the future.
<jhovold> yes, it sounds really annoying
<jhovold> what distro are you btw?
<jhovold> you on*
<jhovold> would be interesting to know if you still hit with mainline (6.9-rc6) or my wip branch (using johan_defconfig)
<agl> I habe Debian where I compile steev's Kernel and EndeavourOS ARM from clover[m] ?
<jhovold> same issue with both distros?
<agl> clover[m] have not yet updated to 6.8.x ther is alway 6.7.10 and so I can normal shutdown.
<jhovold> ok
<jhovold> but please try with 6.9-rc6 (mainline or wip) and see if there's any difference if you get a chance
<agl> How can I use your wip-Branch?
<agl> is it on steev's github site?
<jhovold> just build it like you do with steev's branches, but use 'make johan_defconfig' instead of laptop_defconfig
<agl> I use always your defconfig and add some kernel modules which I need.
<jhovold> ok, good to know
<jhovold> then it should be easy to switch
<agl> ok I will see ....
<agl> I will try it.
<agl> Firstly I have to switch to my x13s. I'am in the Clubhouse and can remote on my x13s.
<jhovold> no rush, i won't have time to look into this for a while anyway
<agl> jhovold: I have at this time now nothing to do, then I can try it.

<agl> jhovold: So the wip-branch compiled and the kernel also started. I was able to log in. I then immediately did a shutdown. It is now like this: Either the x13s has shut down, or the USB connection to the ACASIS box that is connected via USB-C is not working again and so I can't get a network connection to the Ethernet that is connected to the ACASIS box. Later, when I'm back home, I'll see if the shutdown worked or if the ACASIS box is the reason.
<jhovold> agl: sounds promising, let me know what you find out
<agl> ok

<lollaritits[m]> i still the modem problem
<lollaritits[m]> where it is connected but i cant use it
<lollaritits[m]> i think its the firmwares fault
<lollaritits[m]> but how i update it on linux?
<agl> jhovold: I'am sitting at home at my x13s. Actually the x13s will shut down with your wip-branch. I have explicitly tried it again have booted up and shut down again, the x13s is switched off.
<agl> The ACASIS-Box was not the reason.
<agl> USB thethering over my mobile phone works also.
<jhovold> agl: thanks for confirming, it seems something is broken in 6.8 stable or in steev
<jhovold> steev's branch then
<\[m]> today I experienced again the internal screen freeze btw
<\[m]> but no reboot needed, just logged into another tty
<\[m]> but I think this is known broken behavior right, if you turn off the screen

<agl> steev: I know about git only some ground functions. I have get the zip-file of the source code not with git. Sorry my knowledge over git is to smal to do that.
<steev> never a bad time to learn :)
<agl> steev: Have i to get the git tree from your github site?
<steev> yep, that's how it works :) you'd git clone -b <branch you want> url |directoryname| (directory name is optional, it defaults to the name of the repo in the url)
<steev> the pipes are *not* needed, i just didn't know how to show that it was optional
<agl> which branch have I to clone?
<agl> your normal ...-6.8.y
<steev> same branch name that you would choose when you download the zip, but it should be something like lenovo-x13s-linux-6.8.y
<steev> i'm in the middle of work so can't look
