at one point, you could grab the drivers/soundwire/qcom.c file from 6.6(ish) and drop it into place and then audio would work, but i've heard that doesn't work now (haven't tested to confirm)

so, the c630, 6.11.0-rc2 definitely has some broken bits. we get a null pointer with soundwire, assuming i'm reading it correctly. this is a defconfig (with localversionauto turned off, and fscrypt/blk_inline_encryption on (because i use that on my c630), and zram enabled - https://dpaste.com/E93WBVHE6

[ 1.954282] fb0: Framebuffer is not in virtual address space. the other weird bit
<JensGlathe[m]>
<steev> "[ 1.954282] fb0: Framebuffer..." <- yeah I see this everywhere. Even when booted on EL2 - it is not mapped into it, no direct access for some libraries or something like that
<JensGlathe[m]>
<JosDehaes[m]> "Jens Glathe: this may be..." <- this culd very well be the reset
<HdkR>
Dang, I was hoping X1E displayport would work before I did a FEX release, so I could showcase the power of X1E. Oh well, always next month
<HdkR>
Might even have the Dev kit working with HDMI at that point, so that'll be good

I'm still trying to get the vivobook 15 to boot. specified the .dtb in grub with devicetree command and told grub to load the kernel. but when i try to boot, i get a black screen. i suppose i need a lot of kernel parameters?
<Molyuu[m]>
I'm trying to get the xiaomi book s 12.4 (sc8180xp) to boot too. I also get a black screen after system booted into default stage with OpenRC init system. I can connect to device via SSH with UNDIS network. I've set a simple-framebuffer based on uefiplat.cfg dumped from uefi firmware, /dev/fb0 is exists. I wonder if there are any extra kernel parameters to tell the kernel to set fb0 as output?
<Molyuu[m]>
Also, after I set remoteproc_adsp's status to "okay", system won't boot any more. I'm using firmware dumped from windows driver. I also find that there are another copy of adsp firmware in uefi firmware named like "adsp.bXX", "adsp.mdt", should I use the copy in uefi firmware? (Directly merge them with cat command and load the artifact is okay?)
<konradybcio>
ndi_heise: just pd_ignore_unused clk_ignore_unused
<konradybcio>
Molyuu: you should be fine with efifb.. try adding these ^ as well, also remove `quiet splash` if you have these
<ndi_heise[m]>
thx!
<bryanodonoghue>
steev video_cc_mvs0_clk is a venus - nor Iris clock
<bryanodonoghue>
we don't have upstream venus support yet so that clock shouild not be switched on
<bryanodonoghue>
*now Iris
<Molyuu[m]>
<konradybcio> "Molyuu: you should be fine..." <- well, i don't have those params. and i don't know why kernel will hangs on waiting for remoteprocs to start if I set console=efifb.
<konradybcio>
CONFIG_FW_LOADER_USER_HELPER?
<konradybcio>
you want it disabled
<steev>
bryanodonoghue: if it was about sc8280xp i'm not doing vanilla, but on top of johan's patches for sc8280xp :)
<bryanodonoghue>
ofc
<robclark>
JosDehaes[m], JensGlathe[m]: pinctl patch doesn't fix the reboot for me, unfortunately
<robclark>
(but probably important nonetheless)
<ndi_heise[m]>
<konradybcio> "ndi_heise: just pd_ignore_unused..." <- with these, i get to a spinnig fedora logo, wheee ... but then i get a lot of firmware errors for the display controllers and "/dev/disk/by/uuid ... does not exist" and dropping to emergency mode. got no keyboard controls via built in or external usb :/
<robclark>
I guess matters for devices with UFS instead of nvme.. or sdcard
<JensGlathe[m]>
Jos Dehaes: I integrated it anyway, looked useful. Too bad I can't test myself with x1e hw yet.

<steev>
it works here :(
<steev>
that's the only way i know how to, we don't have anything in the kernel to control it

Hmm some odd datum. I'm testing the el2 image on a bigger screen (4k@60), and suspend / resume of the disply works flawlessly. Boot from the same disk in EL1, my 4k@60 BSOD appears after suspending the screen. EL2 doesn't load the ZAP firmware. It loads adsp and cdsp, but this doesn't work connecting them. All on Volterra with the miniDP connector. 2 different screens, same behaviour.
<JensGlathe[m]>
Oh and 2 different boxes, same behaviour.
