<JTL> bloom: you had stream? shucks that I missed it lol
<brentr123[m]> Yeah it was really good even though I had no idea what was happening
<Graypup_> that sounds like it would have been really cool and I would have watched it in the background had I known it was happening. ah well. (I also often watch marcan's work stream vods in the background, they're relaxing)
<JTL> lol yup
<bloom> JTL: Graypup_: I think I'll be doing another stream tomorrow (starting midday Eastern time), so you're in luck ;-p
<JTL> Depends if I'm awake then or not :O
<bloom> Day time in the Americas anyway

<robinp> bloom: any chance you can consider using Youtube for your streams - main reason is that I think it automatically turns them into a VOD. (I guess Marcan can confirm how he does this). This is purely so that us on the other side of the spinny ball thing can see your amazing work.

<marcan> yes, youtube archives stuff (unless you don't want it to)

<JTL> doesn't it truncate after X hours though?
<JTL> (I mean not a problem in *most* cases, just something to be aware of)
<marcan> yeah, I ran over with one, 12h max
<marcan> though the end of that stream was me failing at everything so it wasn't a big loss
<marcan> ideally you save recordings locally too, but I've been lazy about that

<Bastian[m]> I recorded the stream, there were a few hiccups, I think the upload dipped sometimes but it should be fine otherwise

<bloom> I guess I can give it a try, twitch streaming seeme deasier
<bloom> Yesterday was practice, didn't want a recording :0
<Bastian[m]> ok, won't upload it anywhere, couldn't catch the end
<marcan> bloom: youtube isn't really any different, just go to the live page and plug in the stream key into obs
<marcan> (tbh I find twitch's interface significantly less intuitive than youtube's)
<bloom> marcan: Hm, ok
<bloom> It didn't help that my youtube is in Spanish and je ne parle pas cette langue
<marcan> pensé que hablabas español
<ar> nie mam pojęcia co piszecie, ale chyba coś o rozumieniu hiszpańskiego ;)
<ar> ("i have no idea what you're writing, but probably something about understanding spanish")
<bloom> marcan: sí lo hablo, en general, pero no tengo ninguna idea como escribir "stream key" en español
<psydroid> je comprends toutes les langues au-dessus
<bloom> ("clave de mar" "cállate")
<marcan> bloom: tbh, yo tampoco
<marcan> I haven't used any technology devices set to spanish in 20 years or so, I haven't the slightest clue how you say things in spanish these days
<ar> ~20 years ago I used to help with linux/gentoo polish translations, but I never really used them myself

<bloom> Stream starting in a few minutes
<bloom> Youtube would like to verify my phone number
<bloom> My phone number has other ideas
<bloom> Apparently youtube won't activate streaming for 24h
<bloom> Back to Twitch, then
<bloom> Streaming starting at 12:30 Eastern then (6 minutes from now) https://twitch.tv/asahigpu
<bloom> Oh er I should porbably fix my twitch fongi first
<bloom> settings

<xerpi[m]> Are planar and YUV formats exposed in Metal?
<ar> bloom: since i understand neither RE, nor mesa, I'm in this just for the background sounds while I'm doing some different programming-adjecent stuff
<phire> The gaps are probally there so their enums line up nicely on round numbers

<xerpi[m]> Thanks for streaming, it's being super interesting! 👍️
<QusarNe8ula[m]> ^^ absolutely!! enjoy your food ✨

<djsrv> it's called following on twitch but yeah you can subscribe
<jix> I guess it's "follow and turn notifications on" for twich? ^^

<bloom> ah :P
<bloom> Maybe will start streaming again in an hour (6pm Eastern) if I'm up to it.
<choozy> Ah nice
<bloom> Have some self-care to catch up on
<choozy> Are these saved for future analysis?
<choozy> Ah allrighty
<QusarNe8ula[m]> take your time for that then :)
<QusarNe8ula[m]> choozy: vods are usually stored by twitch for at least a while (few months i think?), automatically - click "videos" on the channel page and it should be there
<choozy> Ah, nice
<choozy> Thank you
<QusarNe8ula[m]> ofc! no problem
<bloom> On in 5
<choozy> Ncie
<choozy> Nice, excuse me

<jn> heh, these little cloud emojis :))
<choozy> Yes, tuning in
<xerpi[m]> Icecream95 left a comment about this, misplaced (int) casting, missing parenthesis
<xerpi[m]> Depth stencil seems easier, right? Pass different formats to Metal and see how the bits change
<QusarNe8ula[m]> with disclaimer that i know very little about the gpu or coding process, bitmap investigations sound interesting to me hehe
<bloom> mipmap
<QusarNe8ula[m]> oops lmao i have difficult hearing :eyes:
austriancoder has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<xerpi[m]> Makes sense that it's a "mipmapping enable" bit since the Levels field=0 means 1 level
<xerpi[m]> So with infinite mipmap levels the texture size gets doubled
<xerpi[m]> (never used mipmaps before, so it's quite new to me 😅)

<QusarNe8ula[m]> i think one of the intended sets is actually a test?
<QusarNe8ula[m]> although nothing seemed broken haha
<QusarNe8ula[m]> ruh roh lol. is that definitely the right constant to compare to?
<QusarNe8ula[m]> hey nice! :)
<xerpi[m]> Shouldn't it be last_level - 1?
<xerpi[m]> Oh ok I see, thanks
<xerpi[m]> It's getting late here, I will finish watching it tomorrow. Thanks again for streaming!

<QusarNe8ula[m]> write data notes to a /tmp file juust in case? hehe
<QusarNe8ula[m]> snrk lol-- this is a weird curveball of a graphics trick though it sounds like? going linear at high levels?
