There is a discussion about common kernel ABI for HDR (accelerated by https://wiki.gnome.org/Hackfests/ShellDisplayNext2023), and from the details it seems that the participants are mostly concerned about Intel, AMD and Nvidia display controllers, so it might make sense to bring in AGX as a significantly different design, so that the current ABI won't end up x86-centered.
