<sicelo> re:upower - https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/merge_requests/40#note_1693468, and the standalone issue at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/issues/218 - i would like to here from you whether this sounds like a sane approach :-)

<alatiera> I just got around reading the gcloud egress issue, looking good
<alatiera> bentiss I saw you mentioned deploying quay instead
<alatiera> was there any discussion about using the quay.io instance instead since it was gonna be caching only?
<alatiera> and one more, I see that most of the egress is coming from the outside, non-runners, do we know who is pulling images and what they are used for?

<bentiss> alatiera: re outside egress: mostly because the IP filtering hasn't change since we got new runners, so basically you can ignore that
<bentiss> alatiera: re quay.io: if you mean quay.io, the service on quay.io, it's going to be tough to sell to them. Now that we host our own registry through harbor.fd.o, there are no costs between the runners and the registry
<alatiera> bentiss we moved all the high use gnome images to be hosted over on quay a while ago
<alatiera> I don't think rh will have any issue if we did the same with fd.o ones too
<bentiss> alatiera: when I talked to them about that they were not very much enthusiast about it...
<bentiss> alatiera: and TBH harbor is very close in terms of functionalities

<alatiera> yea I don't mind either harbor or quay, was mostly thinking about not having to manage the instance

<Venemo> hey guys, can someone help me figure out what went wrong here? https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/jobs/33836949
<Venemo> it looks like there was no actual error, just some sort of issue with the CI itself
<__tim> looks like a dns lookup failure on the host
<__tim> retry and see if it goes away?

<Venemo> happened again
<Venemo> is there an actual issue with the MR?
<Venemo> Error response from daemon: Get "https://harbor.freedesktop.org/v2/": dial tcp: lookup harbor.freedesktop.org: no such host
<Venemo> what the hell is this
ximion has joined #freedesktop
<__tim> maybe it's being difficult because it's configured to an en_gb locale :P
<DavidHeidelberg[m]> Venemo: what I recall Windows machines has time to time issues with FNS
<DavidHeidelberg[m]> *DNS
<__tim> it resolves fine in powershell on the windows host afaict, so either something random or something docker related
<DavidHeidelberg[m]> The docker + windows combination is problematic, I think someone tried to fix it once and it worked peobably until harbor :D (maybe there was some workaround?)

<DavidHeidelberg[m]> Venemo: Merged :P Give me a minute for the Windows off MR
<Venemo> yes, it's passed now
<Venemo> I think
<Venemo> so maybe no longer necessary to disable it? I don't know
<DavidHeidelberg[m]> Venemo: I think the issue probably didn't disappear itself, I sent it again to Marge and it passed (maybe just accident)
<Venemo> okay
