emersion: ping me if you get fed up or want extra eyes. i haven't done a postfix/opendkim setup before, but i have done other stacks. deciding how to treat mailman messages is going to be hard to think about (ARC? craigslist-style timelocked From/To aliases? selective DKIM passthrough based on what's signed?)
<jrayhawk>
it sounds like the gmail/microsoft apocalypse has already started

<emersion>
i've set up @fdo, @gitlab.fdo and @lists.fdo
<pinchartl>
nice :-)
<emersion>
let me know if there's another important domain we're sending email from
<emersion>
i've edited Mailman/Handlers/AvoidDuplicates.py a bit
<emersion>
to not change the Cc header
<emersion>
let me know if something is horribly broken because of it
<emersion>
daniels: ack, will do later
<emersion>
at some point we'll probably want to switch the mail server to kara
<emersion>
could do it gradually maybe, e.g. switch gitlab first
<emersion>
and then figure out what's legacy and what's not
* daniels
nods
<daniels>
thankyou!

yeah, 89.16.166.54 and 89.16.189.59 seem defunct

<curious-user>
I have been writing linux software for some time now with localization for various languages. And I have noticed that there is no public API that one can use to query user properties like name, age and gender. A lost of languages rely on the knowledge of a user's gender to correctly conjugate verbs, articles or adjectives. For example French and German. Desktop environments like GNOME, KDE and more provide a user settings
<curious-user>
I was wondering if there is any known "standard" or program in existence that allows one to set one's own gender in the settings. And developers could query said information to display correctly localized messages to the user.
<curious-user>
Maybe there is already a group at freedesktop working on this. The scope of this can certainly be applied to non-graphical environments. But, at least from my experience, most localization happens on the graphical side of things.
