jenneron[m]: thanks a lot for the bisecting and the gitlab issue - with a bit of luck it gets resolved this way and another old chromebook gets working mainline gpu support
<jenneron[m]>
yeah
<jenneron[m]>
i think for your images it is fine to build older mesa, for pmOS it is a bit more complicated
<hexdump0815>
only left then would be then nyan and oak of which the first is kind of a lost case as nobody is really interested in fixing the broken mese nourveau driver for this old device
<hexdump0815>
for oak i guess its just a matter of time until the new powervr driver is working well and also supports the gpu in oak/hana/elm
<jenneron[m]>
hexdump0815: there is a chance to get it working with nvk + zink later
<hexdump0815>
yes for the images old mesa is an option, but as you were already able to provide more detailed info about the problem in the issue maybe a fix is near :)
<hexdump0815>
lets see - it would be cool if it would work one day with nvk and zink
<jenneron[m]>
i think nvk requires recent kernel, but recent kernel has SPI broken on T124
<jenneron[m]>
so no cros ec
<jenneron[m]>
it would be really nice to get T604 working
<jenneron[m]>
peach-pit is really nice right now, GPU works and video decoder works as well
<hexdump0815>
has snow a similar video decoder, so that canbe made working as well or completely different one?
<jenneron[m]>
hexdump0815: snow has a similar video decoder, apps like mpv and moonlight-qt should work fine once we have mesa working
<hexdump0815>
that sounds promising :)
<jenneron[m]>
these things already work on peach-pit
<jenneron[m]>
however it is limited to OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenGL 2.1
<jenneron[m]>
Jasper[m]: i'm not the one who tested it
<jenneron[m]>
also, Jasper, your messages don't reach IRC
<hexdump0815>
what kernel tree does veyron use in pmos? i'm asking as i was using lots of armbian and other rk3288 patches for v6.1 and maybe if there is a well working pmos kernel tree i might switch to it for veyron as well
<jenneron[m]>
you probably need to authorize with nickserv
<jenneron[m]>
i usually send it IDENTIFY command from matrix before chatting with bridged oftc
<jenneron[m]>
you need to register your nickname + [m] on oftc, i think
<jenneron[m]>
you can do this with nickserv commands
<hexdump0815>
maybe i'll give those patches a try - looks a bit cleaner than the patch mess from armbian, but i think they recently cleaned up their rockchip patches a bit :)
<jenneron[m]>
hexdump0815: note that people have problems
