hi all - I'm very new to Mesa and Panfrost. I'm working on getting the Mali Bifrost G52 GPU working on the Spotify Car Thing, i.e. an Amlogic S905D2 SOC. I'm stuck with the Linux 4.9.113 kernel because the board's drivers are all written for that kernel. It's my understanding that the Panfrost kernel module only works with >v5.x Linux kernel. Is that correct?

hi! Could anyone please tell me whether the Panfrost supports the Mali-G610 gpu platform? I'm building linux 5.17 kernel for rk3588 chip but I found no support for G610 gpu.

bg6vml: it does support G610 on RK3588 - the kernel driver for that is called panthor.ko

... i did a google and apparently panthor was atleast supposed to land in ... 6.10, so I bet 5.17 is not appropriate

Correct. Also 5.17 isn't even an LTS kernel release so I am confused as to why you'd use it. If this is vendor BSP, then they expect you to use the proprietary mali driver most likely
