<Kada> Hi, after latest kernel update(s) I can't use Bluetooth, WiFi, touchpad, Macbook Air M2. The problems started with 6.12.0-1005-asahi-arm, I also tested the most recent 6.13.0-1002-asahi-arm.
<Kada> I normaly use 6.8.0-1011-asahi-arm (because of broken evdi, with downgraded mesa packages to 24.1.0~pre20240228-1asahi2.24.04).
<Kada> With every kernel update I try to upgrade kernel/mesa packages to see if the situation with evdi didn't got better. But since 6.12.0-1005-asahi-arm, if I boot the kernel I get no Bluetooth devices, no Wifi, no touchpad :-(
<Kada> Thank you for any suggestions.

<tobhe[m]> that sounds like a dtb issue
<tobhe[m]> can you check if you have the ubuntu-asahi package installed?
<tobhe[m]> apt list --installed | grep ubuntu-asahi
<tobhe[m]> might be related
<Kada> no I don't :-O Thanks!

<Paul[m]> <tobhe[m]> "that is definitely a usb problem" <- Today is my lucky day after trying my different USB keys again, different ports, hubs, etc. manual commands in u-boot and grub shell I finally got it to boot!
<Paul[m]> Since it probably won't be reproducible I want to make sure I get things right here 😂
<Paul[m]> Would it be good to repartition it this way?
<Paul[m]> I haven't clicked on apply operations yet
<Paul[m]> Then I can imagine I will need to fix some m1n1/u-boot/grub offsets so that they still find it
<Paul[m]> I'm too impatient I think I'll just proceed 😆
<tobhe[m]> i don't see anything obviously wrong there
<tobhe[m]> what i don't know is how exactly m1n1 stage 1 finds the asahi apfs partition
<tobhe[m]> but i do know how to fix it if it goes wrong :)
<tobhe[m]> recently had to replace mine
<Paul[m]> Let's see haha worst case I backed it up
<tobhe[m]> if it doesn't work you can delete the apfs, run the asahi installer to install m1n1 + uefi only and then restore the efi parition from a bavkup
<tobhe[m]> hopefully you won't have to :)
<Paul[m]> tobhe[m]: Oh I didn't back up the FAT32 EFI - UBUNT partition... Should I?
<tobhe[m]> yeah, only the contents though. no need ti back up the entire partition
<Paul[m]> Ok I'll do that right after the resize
<Paul[m]> Before rebooting
<Paul[m]> Ok so I rebooted and it works flawlessly
<Paul[m]> Didn't need to do anything it booted normally
<tobhe[m]> nice :)
<Paul[m]> Ah shit I pressed Return before finishing
<Paul[m]> * 19) Turn on your computer
<Paul[m]> Note: if you get an XHCI timeout on event type 0... error at some point you will need to force shut down your Mac by pressing the power button continuously for 5 seconds or so. Then try with a different USB key, different cables, adapters, docks, etc. It can really be hit and miss, and the only way is to force shutdown and retry over and over, until you finally manage to boot into the live Linux.
