<chadmed>
sven: fwextract explodes entirely without liblzfse. i had to package it for gentoo
<chadmed>
afaik there are no known exploits in it and its use is limited to basically never since we have all the firmware in place already
<chadmed>
but i guess someone could sign up to fork and maintain it if its that important to them :p
<sven>
yeah, that’s why I asked about the threat model
<sven>
and either way, first step would be to maintain/audit liblzfse if you’re concerned or maybe start by rewriting that one in rust
<sven>
I’d still rather spend my time doing something more useful but I’m not gonna complain if someone really wants to go there :D
