<f11f12>
I've encountered a problem with the gallium panfrost driver in combination with GLX
<f11f12>
I can run kmscube just fine, but in X I sometimes get DRM_IOCTL_PANFROST_MMAP_BO failed: No such file or directory mmap failed: 0xffffffffffffffff Cannot allocate memory
<f11f12>
simple applications work. Some calls to the ioctl above also just return a sane identifier. But glxgears for example renders no output.

How do connector properties "Colorspace" and "HDR_OUTPUT_METADATA" interact?
<pq>
Can they exist simultaneously? Should I set both when they do?
camus1 has joined #dri-devel
camus has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<swick>
IIRC when you enter HDR mode all non-HDR color properties get ignored so it should be sufficient to set HDR_OUTPUT_METADATA
<pq>
that would be logical, at least for the parts where they duplicate information and might disagree

just made my first libdrm release, if anyone notices I screwed up please let me know
<FLHerne>
vpandya: LLVMpipe rasterisation is threaded; gallium drivers that implement 'threaded context' do more stuff in parallel but I don't think llvmpipe does
<FLHerne>
You can set LP_NUM_THREADS=1 if that's a problem

bnieuwenhuizen: the announcement e-mail seems to have no body (except for a PGP signature)
<emersion>
MrCooper: it has a body for me…
<MrCooper>
huh, there's more in "view source", looks like Thunderbird gets confused by the signature maybe?
<emersion>
it's missing the --- BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE --- though
<bnieuwenhuizen>
how do you sign the messages?
<emersion>
PGP/MIME is best
<bnieuwenhuizen>
I stripped out the headers did gpg2 --clearsign and then put the headers back
<bnieuwenhuizen>
but I guess I forgot a newline between headers and the pgp message start :(
<emersion>
but tbh i just assume signing the release tarball is enough
<MrCooper>
I send the e-mails with Thunderbird, and just enable signing there; getting the formatting right can be challenging with Thunderbird though
<bnieuwenhuizen>
I just use plain git send-email for everything that is in a file ... I don't bother trying to get that done right in gmail

anholt: soo ehh.. with the change from mesa_to_tgsi to mesa_to_nir_to_tgsi we end up getting integer immediates, but nv30 asserts on getting float ones... any quick fix for that in mind? I mean.. it shouldn't matter if we just deal with those as floats, but...

karolherbst: we have no good way way to distinguish immediates in NIR, because it's typeless too. Just load the ints.
<anholt>
(and before anyone suggests the analysis by nir_gather_ssa_types: it doesn't handle anything involving intrinsics, so it's doesn't help)
<anholt>
well, it handles some parts of intrinsics that have types attached.
<bnieuwenhuizen>
robclark: thanks!
<imirkin_>
anholt: maybe just always set to float for no-integer drivers?
<anholt>
I guess we could do that and then you'd get prettier formatting of the tgsi (which is, as far as I know, the only functional change anyone should have from the type on tgsi immediates)
<imirkin_>
anholt: that, and also maintains existing assumptions in the tgsi-processing code
<imirkin_>
like an assert in nv30
