vignesh: IIRC it was because debian "stable" changed and requires a new ci-templates.
<bentiss>
changed as in bumped the version, so different requirements
mvlad has joined #freedesktop
<bentiss>
oh, it's not using ci-templates isn't it?
<vignesh>
No, it is not using ci-templates
mripard_ has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<bentiss>
well, then we are not supporting it :). We made the changes in ci-templates to ensure the image building process works. And we can not support all docker image building creation process

<DavidHeidelberg>
daniels: bentiss can I get shader-db maintainer/developer rights?
<DavidHeidelberg>
two reasons: 1. merge my stuff (Acked and Rbed); 2. maybe merge something in future :D
<bentiss>
DavidHeidelberg: can't help you with this one. It should be given to you by the existing maintainers of that project
<bentiss>
FWIW, I'm going to shut down the registry for a couple of minutes to migrate the db to the new cluster

DavidHeidelberg: I think anholt/robclark can give the ok for sdb
<DavidHeidelberg>
daniels: thanks, meanwhile I pinged Eric (haha, he wanted the stuff merged and he's maintainer)
Nero has left #freedesktop [#freedesktop]
<daniels>
ha, nice
<daniels>
so he can add you :)
<bentiss>
registry is back up
<mupuf>
bentiss: was that it?
<mupuf>
I was expecting it to take much longer :o
<bentiss>
mupuf: migrating its db to the new cluster
<bentiss>
the db_dump/restore took 2 mins
<mupuf>
Ah, right, because S3 was already there, right?
<bentiss>
no S3 is going to be a different beast
<bentiss>
but I'm now slowly removing all services from the old cluster
<mupuf>
:)
<mupuf>
So, there is s3, bots, indico, then what?
<bentiss>
mupuf: s3 is partially moved actually. The artifacts are now on the new cluster. For S3 we are missing s3.fd.o (which uses OPA), and the registry data
<bentiss>
indico is yet to be moved, so are marge* and the ci-stats
<bentiss>
I also need to ping the various domain's owner to get a CNAME/ALIAS/ANAME depending on the registrar to point at the new addresses
<bentiss>
harbor is going to be an issue too, because some projects are still using it
<mupuf>
oh boy
<bentiss>
(and I want to remove it)
<mupuf>
yeah. would be best to remove it
<bentiss>
actually, seems like we didn't have a new modification since the 13th of October, so maybe it's good to disappear
<bentiss>
anyway, one step at a time
<mupuf>
yep!
<mupuf>
for indico, I would like to get back to it. Maybe when I'll be on full parental leave
<mupuf>
it is in dire need of update
i509vcb has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity]

sure, but did you try doing it yourself, and then checking why gitlab thinks it cannot merge?

<pq>
It seems that the loss of git branches is more subtle than I imagined. It's not just branches being completely lost, but also branches having reverted to earlier revision of a MR.
<pq>
On the MR web page, all looks good, but git-fetch returns an outdated revision. What would happen if I hadn't checked and simply clicked the merge button thinking it was all good?
<emersion>
that sounds about right
<pq>
actually, there is no merge button here
<pq>
that's good; it requires "first rebase locally"
<emersion>
wouldn't that only happen if there is a conflict?
AbleBacon has joined #freedesktop
<emersion>
(between current master/main and outdated MR)
<pq>
maybe it also happens if the last known sha1 doesn't exist?
<pq>
hmm... good question
<pq>
I don't think there is any conflict

vignesh, mupuf: regarding failure to run CI on kernel trees: I just had the issue, and the error was "tree entry not found" -> basically gitlab tried to pull the ci yaml file from the tree itself. So I changed the settings, hit save, reverted the settings, save, and now it works
<bentiss>
this should only happen with external CI files
<mupuf>
Cool
<mupuf>
Thanks for the headsup
<vignesh>
bentiss: thanks
<bentiss>
also, basically "undefined error (sth)" gives the request ID, so we can fish for it in the logs, and get exactly what happened
<bentiss>
(just 6 lines of log instead of several thousands)

sigh... I might have spoken too soon :( it solved my issue once, not twice
<bentiss>
k, so it seesm the error is related to ipv6. I sometimes get a connection refused, when on ipv4 it works all the time
<bentiss>
(why is this not happening on mesa, that's a mystery)

right... so this is definitely an IPv6 issue: I've disabled it in the DNS, and now starting CI works
<bentiss>
vignesh: ^^ and FYI, I've started one pipeline in your project to give it a shot
