not really caring much about users editing their own comments, but what's a common pattern is, that maintainers report a comment, and then edit/remove it, and once we see it, we can't know what the original thing was and basically have no idea what was said

1) have there been any update to gitlab (or any component in the CI chain) in the last week or two? some features regarding starting/cancelling/retrying jobs have stopped working

2) are people in the `mesa/mesa` repo in CI-OK? I thought that was the case, but apparently not (I was investigating a user reporting that `runner-gating.sh` is blocking their pipelines)
