<anarsoul> rellla: you can also grep #dri-devel logs from 2019, IIRC I discussed clipping with imirkin back then
<anarsoul> but this bit definitely had an effect on clipping for me

<rellla> anarsoul: i tested with dEQP-GLES2.functional.clipping.*
<rellla> 0x2000 needs to be set for points to be rendered inside the viewport. for lines and triangle tests this bit has no effect. at least in the deqp clipping tests.
<rellla> we still have dEQP-GLES2.functional.clipping.line.wide_line_clip_viewport_center and dEQP-GLES2.functional.clipping.line.wide_line_clip_viewport_corner which always fail. i suspect this is a hw bug?! they also fail with the blob. but this could be worked-around with extending the viewport...
<rellla> ^^ or there exist some hidden bit, which i haven't found yet
<rellla> there are also 4 dEQP-GLES2.functional.clipping.triangle_vertex.clip_two.* tests which fail due to z-clipping. i played with (render->depth_test & 0x3) and/or ctx->viewport.near/far and can get this test pass, but i have no solution yet, that doesn't break other tests...

<tlwoerner> wow, the performance is better with wayland+weston. under x11 i was getting 109-ish, under wayland/weston i'm getting 200-ish
<tlwoerner> and i'm thrilled to find that it's quite easy (now) to run gui apps under wayland/weston from an ssh connection (just like it's always been under x11) :-D
