<flamingradian[m]> bamse: Sorry to bother you, how long does it normally take to get a patch applied? I have 24 patches (half of which are one-line compat string additions) for sdm670 bringup and would like to hopefully get them in before the 6.1-rc1 merge window.

<aka_[m]> flamingradian: probably long
<flamingradian[m]> long as in?
<flamingradian[m]> well, I guess I'll just maintain a fork like everyone else
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: it shouldn't take that long
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: for the qcom-patches i've been slower than usual though, due to my job change...
<flamingradian[m]> bamse: ah, I see
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: for non-qualcomm subsystems, make sure you don't send them together in a large series...as that's an indication that the patches should be merged together
<flamingradian[m]> are you talking about something like this: https://lkml.org/lkml/2022/8/15/338
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: right, that should be merged by 3 different maintainers...
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: so to make progress the 3 maintainers need to realize that they can pick their part and ignore the others
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: or in some way synchronize and figure out who should take the series
<flamingradian[m]> oh ok
<bamse> flamingradian[m]: applying the patches is trivial, but as you might imagine it's convenient to deal with that problem "later"
<calebccff> bamse: congrats on the job btw :)
<bamse> calebccff: thanks :)
