<jrole_8tst-j[m]>
hi everyone. i want to ask does anyone got iommu working on msm8998? im trying this tree (https://github.com/SoMainline/linux/tree/konrad/longbois-next) and found that mmss_smmu got `/soc/iommu@cd00000: Failed to get clk index: 2 ret: -2` and fallback to carveout. but carveout also failed. with `mm/page_alloc.c:4735 __alloc_pages+0x164/0x244
<jrole_8tst-j[m]>
msm_dpu c901000.display-controller: [drm:msm_drm_bind [msm]] *ERROR* failed to allocate VRAM`
<jrole_8tst-j[m]>
is that a expected behavior?
<aka_[m]>
konradybcio: do you have uart access on your loire?
pespin has joined #linux-msm
<konradybcio>
j.ro=le_8t/st-j: 8998 iommu still won't really work upstream as it needs workarounds.. consult kholk
<konradybcio>
aka_: no
<konradybcio>
i once saw some dude having uart over mUSB like 5-7y ago on some sony forums but the forums in question are long gone and i was never able to reproduce it
<konradybcio>
or maybe that wasn't even loire..
<aka_[m]>
konradybcio: sed
<aka_[m]>
lk2nd appears to not be happy on 8956 at all
<konradybcio>
I remember at least some branch booted on loire though?
<aka_[m]>
vknecht: reports it does not
<aka_[m]>
goes to green led
<aka_[m]>
you said it was lottery
<Marijn[m]>
<aka_[m]> "konradybcio: do you have uart..." <- I do
<aka_[m]>
Any chance to obtain some logs from booting lk2nd?
<aka_[m]>
vknecht as i said tried to boot it and ended in green led
<aka_[m]>
minecrell[m]: do lk2nd from that branch by default dump logs into uart?
<minecrell>
if they used the usual uart controller for debug and not a different one, yes
