<nergzd723> Marijn: hi, do you have anything for AMS646YB01 panel? Konrad said you have a lot of stuff for those Samsung panels and I wonder if you have something for that one. It uses DSC in downstream, but it's perhaps possible to drive it without DSC.

<Marijn[m]> nergzd723: I've indeed tried my very best to fix an ana6707- amb650yl01 panel that Konrad generated with the panel generator... but to no avail. That's quite a different setup though, and we're on dual-DSI with compression while you have it easy on single-DSI :)
<Marijn[m]> Looking at the dtsi it is hardcoded to use DSC, and I wouldn't waste time figuring out how to get rid of it since it just works, at least for single-DSI
<nergzd723> Marijn[m]: does single DSI DSC work on sm8250?
<nergzd723> I was under impression that it's broken currently
<Marijn[m]> Idk how few/many patches still have to land in -next though
<Marijn[m]> nergzd723: well there are a bunch of regressions, but we keep fixing and discussing them on the lists
<Marijn[m]> But SM8250 has been working for quite some time for me
<nergzd723> That's good to hear
<Marijn[m]> All my SM8250 are DSC and single-DSI fortunately... Only the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 1 IV (SM8[34]50) have exotic dual-DSI 4k@120Hz setups that are tricky to make work
<Marijn[m]> So eh, I would copy one of my panels from the latest series (or look at my branch since they've seen quite some work) and go from there
<nergzd723> Thanks
