<smaeul> Lightsword: if you want to parse the BSP cert item, you have to actually parse the not-quite-DER
apritzel has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<smaeul> mkimage can only validate cert items generated by mkimage. the BSP uses a slightly different hardcoded template to fill in the values (in other words, the BSP doesn't use a real DER encoding library either), so the size/offsets are all different
<smaeul> the template used by mkimage was chosen to be as small as possible and also work with all known boot ROMs, so the ignored X.509 fields (e.g. the subject) are zero length as much as possible. the boot ROMs do a heinous combination of parsing field lengths and assuming hardcoded offsets.

<junari> I checked with a voltmeter that the voltage on the axp323 is changing. So it's something else

<junari> in bsp pmu driver I see set_voltage_time_sel that "abs(new_selector - old_selector) * delay->step + delay->final + 999" where is delay->step = 25 and delay->final = 50
hexdump0815 has joined #linux-sunxi
<junari> On the other hand, it shouldn't be related to delay, since after warm reboot the frequency change works without hangs. So I think BSP code somehow tunes otherwise axp323

<apritzel> wens: jernej: dammit, the A523 watchdog DT binding and driver changes now made it into Linus' tree, bypassing -next, apparently. So the DT check would now pass, but I guess it's too late now?

<Lightsword> smaeul, is there any reference parser/code for parsing the not-quite-DER structures in the way the bootrom does? like I want to make sure the sunxi-fw parser replicates bootloader logic as much as possible when it comes to parsing

<smaeul> Lightsword: if you want to match the boot ROM logic, then your reference will be the boot ROM. I can send you my Ghidra projects for a few SBROMs, but that's about it
<Lightsword> smaeul, do you have ghidra projects for h616/h618?
<smaeul> h616, yes, probably somewhere
<smaeul> the only other reference is https://linux-sunxi.org/TOC0 which I assume you've looked at already
<Lightsword> smaeul, yeah, been mostly looking through that along with u-boot source and bsp sources for info
