<robimarko_> Am I the only one that gets triggered by the take it or leave it PR-s?
<nbd> robimarko_: fwiw, even though the description could be better of course, the changes look fine to me
<robimarko_> Description is non existant
<robimarko_> Just fixes sysupgrade isnt enough
<robimarko_> I dont expect much, but at least something
<nbd> well, the commit descriptions themselve have more infos. at least they point out the commit that caused the regression
<nbd> and the "mvebu: fix sysupgrade failure" does state a reason for the change as well
<nbd> (firmware partition name is specifc to nas device not global)
<nbd> which makes sense when looking at the commit it points to
<robimarko_> Yes, but why anybody have to wade through history?
<robimarko_> I dont expect much, but what device is broken and why is enough
<robimarko_> I got the backstory via the GH issue, but that only exists in the PR, not any commit description
<robimarko_> I will at least add fixes tags so its traceable

<stintel> hmmm looks like xdp-utils might be picking up host bpftool
efahl has joined #openwrt-devel
<stintel> using bpftool v7.5.0
<stintel> yep
<stintel> OpenWrt has 7.4.0
valku has joined #openwrt-devel
<robimarko_> That would explain random failures people are seeing
<stintel> ah
<stintel> I'm not the only one
<stintel> /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/13/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lLLVM-18: No such file or directory
<stintel> ARGH
<stintel> this entire bpf thing is so fucking fragile
<stintel> adding BPFTOOL= to CONFIGURE_VARS of xdp-tools fixes one thing
<stintel> but that just results in xdp-tools disabling some stuff
<stintel> I tried PKG_BUILD_DEPENDS=bpftool/host but it still picks up my host bpftool
<robimarko_> Yes, its a huge mess
<robimarko_> That has seen multiple attempts at fixing

<stintel> robimarko_: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/15715 seems to fix another build failure for me - any objections agains me merging that?
<stintel> ah, no
<stintel> pffft
<stintel> I'd like to merge the m300 nvmem PR but I am unable to test it myself
<stintel> yak shaving, as usual
<stintel> sigh
<robimarko_> stintel: I am not really familiar with all of that BPF stuff
Stat_headcrabbed has quit [Quit: Stat_headcrabbed]
<stintel> guess I'll just try and disable broken shit so I can test what people expect me to merge

<Svanto24> I looked more into the Huawei AP7050DE over this weekend and came to the conclusion that if it's hackable, it's probably not without hardware mods. Thinking of either shelving it or desoldering the NAND/NOR chips and replacing them with something with stock U-Boot on it.
<Svanto24> Either way I'm probably done with Qualcomm. I need to get up to speed on what SoCs and SoC manufacturers are worth looking into for FOSS development. I definitely don't want any more hardware fuses.
