<robimarko> Isnt that the same thing as: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/16787
<stintel> ah, didn't spot that
<robimarko> But yeah, I think we need that as XDP-tools wont compile
<stintel> but it does not fix #16320
<robimarko> I think that issue predates the recent XDP not compiling at all
<robimarko> BTW, we should probably package bpftool as a tool when BPF is enabled
<stintel> ah well, feel free to merge the PR then, it's older than my commit (I had it in a stash from a while ago when we talked about it)
<robimarko> Ok, will do
<stintel> maybe the re-add vlan_hdr struct + unset BPFTOOL fixes qoriq
<stintel> s/qoriq/#16320/
<stintel> I'm building for qoriq now

<stintel> what was this github repo dedicated to SFPs that can be used to replace ISP ONT ?
<stintel> I thought I starred it or something but cannot find it
<robimarko> I am now on a hunt for XGS-PON SFP
<robimarko> But it seems they are unobtanium in EU
<robimarko> Getting upgraded to 2Gbit fiber so my PGM3000 which is only GPON sadly wont suffice anymroe
<mrkiko> ok guys - I am ... in that moment :D
<mrkiko> any mtk_uartboot users here?? :D
<stintel> thanks
<robimarko> If you need to replace GPON then PGM3000 is great, cheap and even cheaper used
<robimarko> Has good CLI and supports IGMP properly via OMCI MIB
<robimarko> In Germany you can buy it as DT Glassfaser SFP
<stintel> this is XPON, dunno if that's compatible with GPON
<robimarko> Yeah, then it wont do it
<\x> stintel: might be handy resource https://github.com/Anime4000/RTL960x/
<robimarko> \x: you are familiar with the asian sources of HW
<robimarko> Any chance you know of a source for Hisense LTF-7267-BH+ or CIG XG-99S
<\x> no idea on those
<\x> you can ask on that RTL960x discord though
<stintel> \x: ty
<stintel> this was the one I meant: https://github.com/xvzf/zyxel-gpon-sfp
<robimarko> stintel: That is the one I am currently using
<robimarko> You dont need any scripts, etc for it, its all easily changeable via CLI
<\x> ah yeah might be cool to see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4vUY33acW0 mt7981, 2.5GbE rj45 + SFP + 1GbE rj45, usb 2.0 port adapted to m.2 sata
<Slimey> BiDi BiDi BiDi
<stintel> I guess I could also just try ordering https://www.fs.com/de-en/products/183843.html with MAC and PON S/N programmed to that of my ONT

<f00b4r0> stintel: just catching up, I have a small assortment of various presumably hackable ONT SFPs which I bought and never did anything with, so if still in need let me know :)
<stintel> for now I hooked up the ONT to a copper port of my switch, and each of my M300's WAN port to another port in the same VLAN
<stintel> so I can at least reboot/upgrade one m300 again without losing connectivity for too long ;)
<f00b4r0> ;)
<stintel> but I'm losing 10GbE copper ports like this
<stintel> losing a single SFP+ slot would be more acceptable
<stintel> also the switch is a single point of failure still but at least has redundant PSU
<f00b4r0> i wouldn't overly worry about the switch. These devices tend to be *reliable* :)
<stintel> I asked the local ISP guy yesterday if he could get me a 2nd fiber (he has one fiber uplink from nearby village and 1 fiber uplink from Sofia)
<stintel> but he said no :P
<f00b4r0> heh
<stintel> so I guess I'm back to looking for a 3rd party who can fix me a dark fiber between the data center ~2km from here and my house
<f00b4r0> you're too bleeding edge for the area ;)
<stintel> but I fear that could become costly
<f00b4r0> it's gonna be that, or it's gonna be one of those hack jobs you're getting used to ;D
<stintel> I can always connect my starlink, I have a VLAN for it and the WAN connection for it is configured already in the M300
<stintel> but would really like a proper fiber uplink ;)
<stintel> right now it's ~400/~200
<stintel> wouldn't mind 10GbE as I have a 10GbE switch ;)
<f00b4r0> i doubt you'll get that where you are, but maybe I'm prejudiced ;)
<stintel> but then the next problem is again: which device to run OpenWrt on to do 10GbE routing, not only for WAN but also inter-VLAN
<stintel> f00b4r0: if I get a fiber between house and datacenter it's absolutely possible
<f00b4r0> oh yeah, for p2p fiber, that can happen
<stintel> I'd need some equipment in the DC but I already spoke with a friend, we can share something
<f00b4r0> the fiber will likely be strung upon tree branches and floating across ponds, but it might still work xD
<stintel> hahaha right now it's on the electricity poles
<stintel> this is common practice in the villages
<stintel> have a friend who bought a house ~25km from the black sea and just few km from the Romanian border, the uplink is via p2p WiFi, from there there is fiber via the poles to all houses (there are like 20 houses max in the village)
<stintel> I contacted the guys from the DC already but their response was "we don't offer fiber at your address"
<stintel> and they seemed to have no interest in making that happen
<stintel> the "problem" is that we need to cross a river between the DC and my house
<minimal> stintel: use sharks with fricking laser beams? ;-)
<stintel> lol
<f00b4r0> lol
<stintel> ah well, it's reliable and fast enough for now
<stintel> it's just that I got really used to the 1000/600 I had in my apartment in Sofia city ;)
<stintel> and in that sense 400/200 is quite the downgrade
<f00b4r0> we get used to nice things. Spoiled as we are ;)
<stintel> aye
<stintel> first world problems!
<f00b4r0> yep ;)
<stintel> heck a few weeks ago one of the people here asked if I had any work for him because he had no money for food
<stintel> as in "a few hours of collecting some garden waste and bring it to the local spot where the major cleans it up every other month or so"
<stintel> stuff like that
<stintel> ugh, bloody winter hour
<stintel> almost completely dark here already (1755)
<minimal> 16:00, almost completely dark here :-(
<stintel> yikes :(
<stintel> where's that?
<minimal> Ireland
<stintel> damn
asmodehn has joined #openwrt-devel
<f00b4r0> completely dark in Ireland ? I'm in Normandy and still lots of daylight
<f00b4r0> probably another hour worth
<minimal> it's a very dull and overcast day so whilst sunset is officially 16:55 today I reckon it'll be completely dark before 16:30
<SwedeMike> f00b4r0: Normandy sunset 17:43, ireland sunset 16:59
<SwedeMike> err, dublin sunset
<f00b4r0> i see. Latitude matters too ;)
<SwedeMike> stockholm sunset 16:03 :P
<SwedeMike> indeed it matters
<minimal> cloud cover matters also
<f00b4r0> yeah I did not realize Ireland was that far North
<stintel> at least I haven't really seen any clouds in the past few weeks
<stintel> still getting up to 21C during the day
<stintel> ~0C at night
<minimal> forecast shows sunset moving forwards 2 minutes every day :-(
<stintel> heh, so apparently my ISP default gateway MAC address is SuperMicro
<stintel> ok let's see if my HA setup works
<stintel> that's a no
<mrkiko> gch981213: thanks a lot for your mtk_uartboot tool
<mrkiko> and to mtk for adding support...
<stintel> ah
<stintel> lol
<stintel> kind of logical it didn't work, in my apartment I had to do DHCP, in my house I have a static config which I did not copy to the slave router
<stintel> now it works
<stintel> wait
<stintel> rebooted the slave, not the master
