svanheule: i just realised that `ubus call poe info` returns '"firmware": "v0.0"' for me on a Zyxel GS1900-24EP - could you provide with how to start debugging / fixing this?

<robimarko>
Oh I am getting annoyed with my ISP
<robimarko>
They forced me to use their ZTE F8648P crap
<robimarko>
And then they upgraded it on firstboot so exploit to get shell doesnt work and now I cannot even get bridge mode
<stintel>
:(
<jakllsch>
ugh.
n3ph has joined #openwrt-devel
<Znevna>
ask for bridge mode :P
<robimarko>
Yeah, "they dont offer bridge mode"
<Znevna>
they've sent me a fancy new device once, I wanted to test it too, and then they didn't want to change it to something else, and didn't want to enable bridge mode either
<Znevna>
so I've looked for issues to bitch about, I've found it had no IPv6 firewall, all devices were open to the world
<Znevna>
made a point about it and other things, they changed it :P
<Znevna>
now I have a dumb bridge-only thingie
<robimarko>
That is the thing, this is the only XGS-PON device they have
<robimarko>
And technically they offer using your own equipment
<robimarko>
But without VoIP and IPTV
<robimarko>
And they refuse to do bridge mode
<robimarko>
I had SFP GPON but now I had to do XGS-PON as they remove 1G speeds and only offer 300M or 2G
<robimarko>
And I got a sweet deal, 0.1 EUR per month first year
<robimarko>
But now I need to get a proper XGS-PON SFP (Ordered the FS one)
<robimarko>
And try to get that working
<robimarko>
Damn vendors fixing SAMBA exploits

SMB

robimarko: iptv can usually get hacked into (typically it's a separate vlan). voip technically may be more complicated if you can't find your access credentials. Have you checked if others haven't already done the heavy lifting for you? :)
<robimarko>
f00b4r0: I dont care about VoIP and I have IPTV figured out, its just a VLAN
<f00b4r0>
classic :)
<robimarko>
Thats easy, I have all that working with GPON
<robimarko>
But now I need to get XGS-PON authenticated, its all easy once we get to O5
<robimarko>
FS XGS-PON stick is on the way, lets hope they still use the top secret 10 whitespaces for password
<robimarko>
If they dont then I have no way of getting the password since its not show anywhere and I dont have root
<f00b4r0>
have you tried dumping the onboard flash?
<f00b4r0>
unlikely to be encrypted ;)

Its almost guaratneed to be encrypted and it means I gotta go offline for a while
