alyssa: huh? why would supertuxkart on mobile behave differently than on desktop?
<HdkR>
If you're targeting Android drivers then it is likely easier to create a new renderer :P
<macc24>
ok, what i'm really asking is: any chance of more performnace from using mobile compile flags for supertuxkart?

Hello, I'm using RockPro64 (RK3399 with MaliT860) with panfrost driver. Once in 2 or 3 boots, something is wrong and I'm getting page faults in the driver causing short screen freezes (when dragging cards in solitaire, if that matters). My dmesg is https://termbin.com/zl9iv . The same happens no matter if i use stock Debian kernel or my own one. Also, overall performance of 2D SDL
<spawacz>
based games seems to be a bit worse than when using llvmpipe. Should i try building more recent kernel? Thanks for all suggestions

spawacz: What Mesa version are you using?
<spawacz>
Sorry, how to check that?
<CounterPillow>
glxinfo will tell you, as will your package manager
<spawacz>
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 20.3.5
<CounterPillow>
that is quite old
<CounterPillow>
since then, Mesa has added support for OpenGL 3.0 on your platform
<CounterPillow>
You should definitely upgrade Mesa
<spawacz>
I see. Is that a big headache to build it from source? It's Debian so we are always a "bit" behind ;p
<CounterPillow>
It's quite easy
<CounterPillow>
though you'd probably also have to upgrade your libdrm while you're at it
<CounterPillow>
and at that point just upgrade to bookworm honestly

I think I might have a lead on my stuttering problem!
<greenjustin>
I think I completely borked minigbm, and we've just been allocating buffers directly on the display controller
