tobhe changed the topic of #ubuntu-asahi to: Ubuntu-Asahi development | Github: https://github.com/UbuntuAsahi | Logs: https://oftc.irclog.whitequark.org/ubuntu-asahi
<tobhe[m]> that's awesome! I wonder if we can integrate it somehow
<tobhe[m]> my firefox is on 119 and works
<enick_81> I think my M2 running Ubuntu Asahi has better suspend/resume than my Thinkpad at present - which is both very cool, and very sad.
<tobhe[m]> yep
<tobhe[m]> if you compare to your average linux laptop we also are pretty good in terms of feature support
<enick_81> Suspend on my Thinkpad has been dicey since 6.2
<tobhe[m]> the x13s for example doesn't have camera, hypervisor and broken external display support...

<eslerm[m]> nice work kaazoo 🎉
<tobhe[m]> so we have a bug report that the ubuntu-asahi meta package update breaks fresh mantic installs
<tobhe[m]> the only change is an added dep on grub
<tobhe[m]> but i don't see how

<enick_81> Those are great tobhe . Save one for me!
<tobhe[m]> i think there are less than 10k people going to the summit, there should be more than enough for everyone ;)
<enick_81> You must have a few more stacks

<timhm[m]> tobhe: should fractional scaling work when the screen includes the notch area?
<tobhe> i don't know, I have never disabled the notch
<tobhe> but if it doesn't it should be fixed
arcticp[m] has joined #ubuntu-asahi
<enick_81> Hmm, might need a kernel re-spin - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2042573
<tobhe[m]> john-cabaj @john-cabaj:matrix.org: we have the fix in our apple-arm tree
<tobhe[m]> not sure if you saw that
<enick_81> Hadn't actually checked yet
<enick_81> How about that, we're more stable that generic
<enick_81> I only just checked who filed the bug. You probably checked apple-arm some time ago
<timhm[m]> This is what i see for fractional scaling when apple_dcp.show_notch=1 is enabled
<eslerm[m]> <tobhe[m]> "so we have a bug report that the..." <- the report quality seems low, see their upstream report
<eslerm[m]> <timhm[m]> "tobhe: should fractional scaling..." <- it does
<eslerm[m]> it works in sway at least, I haven't tried gnome's settings
<tobhe[m]> <eslerm[m]> "the report quality seems low..." <- upstream report?
<eslerm[m]> I linked the github issues if we're talking about the same one
<tobhe[m]> ah i hadn't seen that
<tobhe[m]> but he is right, it isn't resolved
<tobhe[m]> at least i don't really know what's happening. it works fine on my machine
alain68 has joined #ubuntu-asahi
<alain68> Hi All, when updating my ubuntu, do i need to update some other asahi parts from time to time (m1n1, uboot) or is this bundled in the distro ?
<tobhe[m]> hi, you don't need to do anything manually. everything is maintained as ubuntu packages and should auto update when we release new versions
<alain68> cool that's nice ;)
