<Guest1112> hey everyone. I'm trying to use my Mac Mini M1 by putting Ubuntu 24.04 on it with a stock linux kernel compiled with 16k pages.
<Guest1112> Then I saw your Ubuntu Asahi project and now I'm thinking what is the difference between what I want to do and Ubuntu Asahi.

<john-cabaj[m]> Apple Silicon requires patches to the Linux kernel that are not yet upstream
<john-cabaj[m]> If you want to use Linux on your M1 machine, you'll need an Asahi distro, like Ubuntu Asahi
<Guest1112> I only want ethernet and keyboard, my understanding is most recent kernel requires on changes other than building a 16K version
<Guest1112> on == no*
<Guest1112> So I guess I'm looking to build an m1n1 + my linux kernel (Which is ubuntu 24.04 kernel + 16k) + unmodified ubuntu userland
<john-cabaj[m]> Could give it a shot. I would ask those questions in #asahi-dev on IRC
<Guest1112> ok thanks!
