<popey> Good day!
<popey> Anyone tried upgrading MacOS on an Ubuntu Asahi Dual-boot M1 Air ? :D
<popey> is it a) wise, or b) unwise, or c) unknown.
<tobhe[m]> I think there normally shouldn't be an issue as your asahi installation doesn't share the firmware and boot partition with your actual macos
<tobhe[m]> so far I haven't had problems
<tobhe[m]> otoh there was a problem with an apple boot update at some point where the screen stopped working, but that was technically an apple bug that would have also been broken without asahi
<tobhe[m]> I also couldn't find any breakage report from the latest update on either reddit or discourse so you are probably fine 🙂
<popey> hmmmmm pondering whether to be patient zero or not :D
<tobhe[m]> I'll just try on mine :)

<tobhe[m]> Got a nice new forest desktop background in macos and Ubuntu still boots
<tobhe[m]> the update will make macos the default but you can easily change that by booting into the recovery menu and holding the option key while selecting the Ubuntu boot entry
