<kaazoo> HI, I guess an alternative would be to just base the FEX root FS on 24.10, even if the host OS is 24.04. I did a quick test build and FEXBash was working. Let's see if I can also get Steam to run.
<tobhe[m]> that might actually work
<tobhe[m]> it does work the other way around as I saw on my x elite
<tobhe[m]> you could also try pulling from -proposed
<tobhe[m]> that should fix it

<john-cabaj[m]> Do we plan on aging out 23.10 images, or maintain those without further updates?
<tobhe[m]> I say we drop them
<tobhe[m]> there isn't a good reason to spend time on those
<kaazoo> OK, but would you like to serve libllvm18 for noble from the Ubuntu Asahi PPA? Would be another thing to maintain.
<kaazoo> If 24.10 root FS has no technical problem on a 24.04 host, then it would even be simpler, because you have 1 root FS for both currently supported Ubuntu Asahi releases, instead of maintaining 2 root FS versions.
<tobhe[m]> ah good idea. I could copy the proposed version to the ppa until it makes it into the proper archive
<tobhe[m]> of course we could try the second if it works
