* nukelet scratches his head
<nukelet> the launchpad arm64 builders seem to be down
<nukelet> sigh
<tobhe[m]> already complained
<nukelet> ah, just saw your message in MM
<nukelet> thanks for bringing that up
<tobhe[m]> it's getting better but the queue is still pretty long
<nukelet> didn't know we could poke IS on weekends :D
<tobhe[m]> well 😄 you can. whether they respond is a different matter
<nukelet> 😅
<tobhe[m]> but I guess launchpad is expected to also work on weekends
<nukelet> well i would certainly hope so hahah
<nukelet> ETA for my kernel build is 35 minutes but it's been like that for at least 20 mins lol
<tobhe[m]> also we are lucky we don't run risc-v laptops. https://launchpad.net/builders
<tobhe[m]> 2 weeks queue
<nukelet> jesus christ LOL
<nukelet> are those all qemu?
<nukelet> oh wait are they actually the dc roma 2 laptops
<nukelet> from the build times ive seen on my banana pi f3 (afaik has a spacemit k1 chip as well) i can understand the queue times...
<tobhe[m]> yeah but the builders are probably qemu. There are laptops but so far everything is slower than your average raspberry pi
<nukelet> welp thats underwhelming lol
<nukelet> i think none of those recent riscv64 processors even support out of order execution
<tobhe[m]> this is the original 200$ pinebook from 2016
<nukelet> so we're about as good as an intel atom from 2006
<tobhe[m]> s/200/100/
<tobhe[m]> I wonder how it would perform against a powerbook
<tobhe[m]> but small steps 🙂 arm went through similar struggles
<nukelet[m]> yeah, and now the 4c/8t m1 almost beats my 8c/16t r7 3700x while using 60-80% less power...

<nukelet[m]> btw, i prepared a 6.12.0-1005-asahi-arm kernel candidate. the meta package should be built and published over the next 1h-2h in my PPA: https://launchpad.net/~vpeixoto/+archive/ubuntu/asahi-2/
<nukelet[m]> i haven't seen any complaints in the asahi IRC channels (plus Fedora picked up this tag in their latest update) so i assume there shouldn't be any unfortunate mishaps like last time
<tobhe[m]> awesome, does that include the mic bits?

<nukelet[m]> nope, just some dp/hdmi bugfixes
<nukelet[m]> the mic support stuff wasn't merged to the main asahi branch yet
<nukelet[m]> * just some important dp/hdmi bugfixes
<nukelet[m]> im keeping a close eye on the mic support stuff though (i very much need it)
<tobhe[m]> In debian we have all the user land parts ready I think
<tobhe[m]> so once it is official it shouldn't take us too long to get all the parts in place too
