<xperia64> Those 2 Citra/Yuzu bugs are fixed now.
<zmike> \o/
<xperia64> Citra's kind of all over the place and confusing me a little now.
<xperia64> but, it seems to be matching and exceeding native mesa again.
<zmike> 🤔
<xperia64> that minecraft homebrew clone isn't running well on native mesa either, wonder what changed. I'll try it on `nvidia` later.
<xperia64> that retail game is running as good as native if not a little better.
<zmike> just don't test for too long or you'll oom yourself
<xperia64> VRAM or regular?
<zmike> regular
<xperia64> I see
<zmike> got a patch up for one, the other is proving much harder to find
<xperia64> so the retail game is running well, but there's random geometry spikes, that sometimes manifest as a plane in the middle of 3d space
<zmike> huh
<xperia64> that homebrew I was using to illustrate the specular vertex attribute issue is running correctly, and hitting 2745%! (native mesa is 1933%)
<zmike> 💪💪💪💪💪
<zmike> this is on intel?
<xperia64> discrete Vega 56
<zmike> oh
<zmike> bnieuwenhuizen: we did it.
<xperia64> Yeah I was surprised to see it running gud on a discrete card
<zmike> we gettin there
<xperia64> I upgraded to a 5950X recently so my Intel system isn't as convenient at the moment (OOMing shouldn't be an issue either for a while with 64GB of RAM :P)
<zmike> in 32bit processes nobody can hear your RAM scream :P
<xperia64> I should try that crusty 32-bit windows OpenGL 2.0 game again
<xperia64> here's the geometry spikes: https://imgur.com/G49T9ny.png
<xperia64> note the missing arms and those weird spikes between the legs
<zmike> huh
<zmike> file a ticket I guess
<xperia64> I'll try to come up with something more concrete I guess
<xperia64> how do I compile 32-bit mesa again? :P
<zmike> uhhh
<ajax> setarch i686 mock ...
<xperia64> that seems to be working
<ajax> i guess you could just say mock -r fedora-34-i686 and not setarch. old habits.
<xperia64> I should check if upstream mesa regressed with this retail game, I swear native mesa used to run it at ~800%
<zmike> what is "upstream mesa" ?
<xperia64> err, not-zink
<xperia64> native mesa OpenGL
<zmike> ah
<xperia64> yeah nvidia can still run that minecraft demo fast, so it seems something regressed with mesa as a whole(?)
<xperia64> heh, that crusty 32-bit legacy OpenGL game still isn't happy. To be fair, it's *really* bad OpenGL.
<xperia64> Created a ticket for the legacy game. I'll try to narrow down the geometry spikes later (it is a regression, so I can bisect)
