zmike: Hi. Did not have luck with zink recently. amdgpu crashes even on some simple tests, locking my system, and requiring reboot. Updated kernel from 5.10 to 5.14.9, same issues, even crashes even earlier in my scripts (i.e. in glmark2 first test).
<zmike>
the hell
<zmike>
there's a bug with the default descriptor mode now that I'm aware of which can cause hangs, might try lazy
<baryluk>
ok. will do. that.
<zmike>
otherwise I guess it's time to bisect
<baryluk>
ok. ~/zink-opt env ZINK_DESCRIPTORS=lazy glxgears works, no crash yet. but I am getting 6.1 FPS.
<zmike>
that's normal
<baryluk>
ok. let me try glmark
<baryluk>
ok. looks good. no hangs.
<baryluk>
xperia64: is you are on Debian or Mint, I have scripts you could use to easily compiles mesa 64 and 32 bit.
<zmike>
so if you have the time and want to try bisecting to figure out what broke glmark for auto descriptors that would be useful to me since that's a release blocker atm
<zmike>
not sure it's broken here, I was planning to debug it in tomb raider
<baryluk>
ok. will do that now.
<baryluk>
I guess. I will setup a script in background to kill X server after some time. so I do not need reboot and recompile everything from scratch. I do not have computer on network at the moment to use ssh.
<zmike>
if it's a hassle then I'll get to it too since it's the top item on my list
<zmike>
would be nice if glmark exploded for me but it seems like those tests are simple enough that I'd have caught it by now...
<baryluk>
weird. It does not reproduce atm. I woke up today to frozen X, with glmark with the horse (so either test "build" or test "shadow").
<zmike>
🤔
<baryluk>
actually in my script. glmark2 is not at the top of the test list. so before glmark2 crashes / frozen, supertuxkart, and heaven, valley, superposition all did run fine. geex is later on the list, so was not tested.
<baryluk>
yeah. supertuxkart works stable, and almost flawles (some screen layers in menu and race sometimes flicker, but very rarely actually).
<zmike>
I think that's still just wsi
<baryluk>
right.
<zmike>
somehow stk is the only thing that really showcases that
<baryluk>
it is better tho. I should test on blackbox wm or something.
<zmike>
I wouldn't worry, I don't think we'll have to deal with such things too much longer
<baryluk>
ok. running the full script. I pass some extra options to some benchmarks, so maybe it makes a difference.
