<TellowKrinkle>
Generally when people say "64-bit instruction set", they're referring to an instruction set that _can_ use 64-bit registers, not one that restricts you to always using the full 64 bits in every instruction

<chadmed>
i squashed all the dt changes down because they were noisy and useless
<chadmed>
only question really left is what do we actually want to expose
<chadmed>
the amount of data exposed by the smc is ridiculous and most of it is completely superfluous for our needs, e.g. having 6 temperature sensors per cpu core
<LarstiQ>
how much can those differ in measurements?
<jannau>
if there were 6 sensors per core. I did not find temp sensors for the efficiency cores
<jannau>
they differ quite bit iirc, too bad that we don't have a description of what they measure exactly
<LarstiQ>
interesting, now I'm interested in CPU heating. I know for LNG tanks the gradient is very non-linear and you can easily get 60℃ difference

<chadmed>
the difference isnt that great P
<chadmed>
:p*
pb17 has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<chadmed>
but regardless i think we just pick one sensor for each core, preferably whichever is hottest during a burn test so we can just label it as hotspot or whatever
<chadmed>
and we should probably also avoid the ***C keys since they will confuse people
