<pjakobsson>
mripard, are you the one to bother about user account questions for gitlab.freedesktop.org? I cannot access my account with user @patrik. I created an account (@pjakobsson) some time ago which picked up my primary email so I have no way to access the @patrik account. I didn't even know the @patrik account existed at that time.
<pjakobsson>
I assume @patrik is my old freedesktop account that got moved into gitlab

<mripard>
pjakobsson: can you send us (Daniel and I) an email from your primary mail to let us know?
<pjakobsson>
mripard, yes, but I don't know for sure which email is connected to the @patrik account. However, my gravatar is correct so it's probably the same as for the @pjakobsson account. I'll send an email and we can take it from there.
<mripard>
awesome, thanks

<bentiss>
pjakobsson: your @patrick account is using the @suse.de email
<pjakobsson>
bentiss, I just tried resetting the suse.de email and the change happened to the @pjakobsson account for some reason
<pjakobsson>
so perhaps both accounts have both emails? :)
<bentiss>
that is weird, because gitlab prevents that normally
<bentiss>
anyway, what do you want me to do? kill @patrick and rename pjakobsson as patrick?
<pjakobsson>
no it seems the @patrik account got the drm-misc access so better kill the @pjakobsson account
<bentiss>
I can give access to one or the other, it's whatever username you prefer to keep
<pjakobsson>
and it's @patrik without the 'c'
<bentiss>
sorry :)
<pjakobsson>
no worries, just making sure we're not messing with some other patrik :)
<pjakobsson>
let's keep the @patrik account
<bentiss>
heh, no, it's just me typing :)
<bentiss>
I don't seem to see any @suse.de email attached to pjakobsson. so I'm not sure how this email can be linked to that account
<pjakobsson>
me neither, but it updated the password for @pjakobsson somehow. Perhaps it's because they have the same primary email? Which is not possible.
<bentiss>
no the pjakobsson email is the gmail one
<pjakobsson>
hmm let me try resetting the suse.de password again
<pjakobsson>
somehow it worked this time, must be human error on my end
<bentiss>
heh :)
<bentiss>
so now you have access to both account
<bentiss>
do you want to keep them or should we nuke one?
<bentiss>
I don't seem to find if we can merge them together
<pjakobsson>
I can delete the @pjakobsson myself and then just add the other email to @patrik. I think that should be enough.
<__tim>
bentiss, daniels: would it be possible to install the 'cmark-gfm' package on annarchy ? :)
<bentiss>
__tim: don't know exactly what is the pol;icy for annarchy...
<Mithrandir>
__tim: done.
<__tim>
there's also lots of stuff like xsltproc and whatnot installed, don't think this one will make much difference tbh :)
<__tim>
merci
<Mithrandir>
bentiss: there isn't a formal policy, but this looked harmless enough, and better to have it installed through apt than somebody building it in their ~.
<SneakySnake>
Hi, uhh... Is this channel used for questions/discussions about specific freedesktop.org projects? The channel description seems to state otherwise, but I'm not sure where else to turn to. There doesn't seem to be any "contact info" for StatusNotifierItem spec for example
<SneakySnake>
Is there a place more suited for general discussion and questions?
<SneakySnake>
It feels a bit unfriendly to refer people to mailing lists or gitlab issues for doing that.

SneakySnake: The channel description is accurate. There are other channels on OFTC that cover some things, but I can't think of one where SNI particularly fits
<FLHerne>
#xorg and #wayland can be a bit catch-all sometimes
<SneakySnake>
I see. It kinda surprises me how few communication channels there seems to be for such an important part of the open source desktop ecosystem.
<alanc>
most of freedesktop came from an era when mailing lists were the primary mode of communication for open source projects, and much didn't ever get around to setting up anything else since the mailing lists worked for them
<emersion>
is SNI part of xdg-specs?
<emersion>
if so, maybe ask the maintainer if they would want an IRC channel?
