<MathieuBridon[m]> __tim: so, looking at that paste above, what are workflow rules for? πŸ€”
<MathieuBridon[m]> also, do I need the ccache? πŸ€”
<MathieuBridon[m]> and what are the stages for? πŸ€”
<MathieuBridon[m]> (please don't tell me that's why meson isn't installed in the build πŸ˜†)
<__tim> you can "probably" remove the workflow bits, they kind of control what pipelines are created when (branch commit, MR, etc.), or check the ci templates documentation, but they probably don't hurt either
<__tim> you don't need the ccache stuff
<__tim> there are two stages: (1) the image build (if an image with the specified TAG doesn't exist yet, it will rebuild it and install the packages you specified, and then store the image in the registry; if an image already exists, it will just skip that step and re-use the existing one); (2) the actual CI job that (re-)uses the previously-built image
<__tim> This way you create a container that has exactly the things you need and you don't need to install them from scratch every time you do a ci build/test
<__tim> it looks like it's going in the right direction now at least :)
<__tim> try using a normal dot instead of a colon in the FEDORA_TAG, in case that's what throws it off
<__tim> (random guess, no idea really)
<MathieuBridon[m]> Yeah, the colon failed with an incorrect tag format...
<MathieuBridon[m]> πŸŽ‰
<MathieuBridon[m]> that's good to know 🀷
<MathieuBridon[m]> so, the prep succeeded, and installed meson amon others...
<MathieuBridon[m]> then, the test stage failed:... (full message at <https://matrix.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/sBdxbDUsOhOQMTrqBdgfgrHM>)
<MathieuBridon[m]> the cairo example you pasted above does the same, first a prep then a build (I called it test instead of build 🀷), and I guess the build works fine for you? πŸ˜•
<__tim> I did not test the example I pasted, but it seemed better to start with something that's known to work in the original context than try random things :)
<__tim> I think you might want extends: '.fdo.distribution-image@fedora' for your second stage, not 'container-build'
