<hexdump0815> jenneron[m]: if i understand this right, this might be useful for getting the camera working on krane etc. maybe? - https://github.com/hexdump0815/linux-mainline-on-arm-chromebooks/issues/12
<jenneron[m]> hexdump0815: probably, but it is useless without userspace support
<jenneron[m]> i don't know if libcamera wants to support it before reaching mainline
<jenneron[m]> also, i'm probably not the person to work on it, especially in userspace
<hexdump0815> sure - np - just wanted to share the info ... maybe i'm reading it wrong, but shouldn't this provide a v4l device and all the stuff libcamera usually does is done in the isp hardware then?
<hexdump0815> but i might be completely off with this assumption
<hexdump0815> looks like the patches are very old as well (v4.19) so i guess this would not go very well with recent kernels without a lot of extra work
<jenneron[m]> hexdump0815: > Currently supported platforms include the Intel IPU3 (selected devices only), NXP i.MX7, Raspberry Pi 3 and 4, RockChip RK3399, as well as UVC webcams and the VIMC virtual test device.
<jenneron[m]> i don't think it's worth porting patches from 2019 if we don't get userspace support
<hexdump0815> yes i agree
