bamse, can you maybe say if it is reasonable to add `usb-charge-current-limit = <1800000>;` in `qcom-msm8974-sony-xperia-castor.dts` to enable charging? All I can say really is that it seems to work
<julian[m]12>
Another issue I noticed is that the irq `chg-done` is never called. That means it displays `Discharging` also when the battery is full
<julian[m]12>
on sony-castor-windy
<julian[m]12>
No I checked, it doesn't draw any power from the socket at all
<julian[m]12>
<julian[m]12 "Another issue I noticed is that "> ah wait, was that a response to this?
<julian[m]12>
hm I see… yeah maybe that is the case
<julian[m]12>
I also noticed that in upstream the parameters for pm8941@0 charger@1000 are almost the same for many msm8974 device, even though in android for &pm8941_chg there are many different values, in particular for sony-castor some currents are twice as large
<julian[m]12>
I'm a bit hesitant to test because I don't know what these values mean exactly, neither in upstream nor in android
<julian[m]12>
but if your guess is correct, maybe thats a reason why the charger cannot power the device?
<julian[m]12>
I saw the documentation and I'm trying my best to understand ;)
<julian[m]12>
I asked there earlier, they sent me here ;)
<julian[m]12>
As far as I can tell from git log, bamse wrote the driver qcom_smbb.c and the first dts for msm8974 devices
<julian[m]12>
ok will do that, thanks for you help so far :)

Hey, could someone upload dmesg from some MDP5 device with drm.debug=2 ? (just early boot and init) ?
<DavidHeidelberg[m]>
btw. send some patches to ML for MDP4 fixes, does Jonathan Marek hang around?
