Is it possible for a package from a feed to override a core package with the same name? I'm looking to have a repo that has some extra packages, and replaces a couple core ones with patched versions, and I'm wondering if it's best to structure this as a feed or to just use a fork of the top-level repo

...where is the auto builder status anyhow?...
<rmilecki>
tersono: " Move the line with your custom feed above standard feeds to override them." and " NOTE: if you want to override packages coming from an existing feed, you must write your custom feed ABOVE the line of the package feed containing the packages you want to override."
<rmilecki>
tersono: it seems OpenWrt's buildroot picks package from the first feed if it exists in multiple feeds
<rmilecki>
try it
<tersono>
Thanks. What about packages from the core, e.g. hostapd?

it seems to me that imagebuilder doesn't respect "rootfs-part" FEATURES flag
<robimarko>
No, 22.03 has no images for those mvebu boards that had the switch acting as hub
<robimarko>
They should use master for now
<robimarko>
And that release goals page doesnt seem to be remotely up to date

robimarko: they already have 22.03 working and happy to keep that and switch-hub scenario for now but ok... I wonder what changes in master master unstable?
<enyc>
robimarko: ok so can you update the release goals page to reflect reality? or explain what the reality is for branching 23.xx ?

\x: Thanks, I went down the rabbit hole of figuring out how the hell was that intersection working
<robimarko>
Turns out its always interesecting against US regulatory which is crazy
<Ansuel>
btw still didn't find a clue from where the default regdb comes from
<\x>
it seems from the board file
<\x>
atleast for 60xx/mr7350
<Ansuel>
\x didn't found any reference in them
<\x>
i had like 15 ish boardfiles per country
<\x>
i had to try which the best one is for me, I just used FCC's
<\x>
15 boardfiles, 1 per country/region
<robimarko>
Ansuel: The FW is providing it in the regulatory event
<robimarko>
But, yeah its gotta be somewhere in the BDF, otherwise its hardcoded in the FW
<enyc>
hauke: thankyou for letting me know, passed on =).
<nick[m]12>
hauke: yes, but on the other side our gap between latest kernel lts and openwrt kernel becomes larger and larger just because two targets are blocking. :/ I hope it will get soon fixed. is anyone working on it?

also did we checked if with 2.9 people still have the sysupgrade problem?
<robimarko>
Yeah, there are some interesting fixes for monitor mode etc
<robimarko>
I made a PR to sync with it
<robimarko>
Yeah, it would be interesting to know if new FW sorted out the dreaded flush

robimarko looking at the forum it seems the problem is still there and actually from the meme of that KEY vulnerability
<Ansuel>
now the problem is triggered everytime a client disconnect and not only on sysupgrade
<Ansuel>
(due to the tx ring getting flushed at every client disconnect ahahahah)
