blocktrron: hi!! I know this is not relevant for the cuddy 3000 v1, but ... was curious to know if you can give me any pointer on what was the final solution used in openwrt to exclude the ubi partitions from bbt / nbm managemtn and so on.

<aparcar[m]>
can this be related to your recent warning adjustments?
<robimarko>
Werror was enabled for kernel only
<aparcar[m]>
i see thanks

robimarko: congrats for biseting related to bug in PR 12646 (SCM download bit). How did you do that?
<mrkiko>
robimarko: I mean, it should have been very intensive and time-consuming :)
<robimarko>
mrkiko: Just looked at the 5.15.111 changelog and searched for keywords, that looked suspicious along with some SPI changes
Borromini has joined #openwrt-devel

robimarko: great work. i wonder what "download mode" means - but ... ; do you think this affects all ipq4019 devices or only some specific ones? I know nothing about SMC part
<robimarko>
mrkiko: Its a setting for storing/recovering debug logs
<mrkiko>
robimarko: thanks
<robimarko>
QCA TZ has support for recovering logs from memory
<mrkiko>
robimarko: I hope this won't affect the fritz!box 7530 - otherwise I won't be able to sysupgrade it easily, it's remote ...
<mrkiko>
robimarko: and now running .111
<robimarko>
mrkiko: hard to tell, it could just be certain TZ/QSEE versions but its most likely the whole SoC
<mrkiko>
robimarko: great :D (humour of course); so I'll have to see. And of course the device uses EVA bootloader, so who knows
<robimarko>
mrkiko: Bootloader doesnt matter, SCM is talking to QSEE which is QCA version of TrustZone and which is always running
Danct12 is now known as Guest541

<mrkiko>
robimarko: sure, but was wondering if EVA may do something different than u-boot preventing the hang. But this has no sense - after reading the report more, I see the problem happens before the bootloader gets the chance to print something, so ... ok, I should hope. Not clear to me if this triggers 100%

if it does, I already lost my device;otherwise I might try a sysupgrade rulette
<mrkiko>
robimarko: rebooted; so maybe it's more like a rulette
<robimarko>
mrkiko: Well, it could affect only certain QSEE versions so not all boards are affected
<mrkiko>
robimarko: yeah, clear.

ynezz: f00b4r0 is the next step for buildbot now a chicken egg problem? Do you need the 23.05 branch to setup the build infra and 23.05 branching is waiting for the build infra to be ready?
<Mangix>
robimarko: 1.8v ttl. Interesting
<robimarko>
Mangix: Its for Turris Shield, so not that interesting
<Mangix>
Huh. Had no idea. Isn't it based on an old mvebu platform?
<robimarko>
Yeah
<Mangix>
My Omnia uses 3.3V. not sure about my MOX
<Mangix>
Oh wow MOX uses 1.8V too.

and here
<schmars[m]>
really... hmmm... i'm in AS44194
<schmars[m]>
thanks, good datapoint nevertheless
<EqUaTe>
schmars[m]: does anything look off if you do mtr -6 downloads.openwrt.org ?
<EqUaTe>
(from a host with mtr installed, obviously)
<schmars[m]>
yeah path stops at our own upstream. had the same on tuesday and it worked again in the evening
<Borromini>
i can ping 2a01:4f8:251:321::2 e.g. which is what I get for downloads.openwrt.org
<schmars[m]>
good good i'll debug this on our end then :)
<EqUaTe>
sounds like your upstream might be having issues.
<schmars[m]>
yooo all of hetzner is unreachable here :) great
<ynezz>
aparcar[m]: I'm not aware about any chicken egg problem, we're all eagerly waiting for the branching ceremony :)
<schmars[m]>
uh exciting, so it's that day finally

Once all the packages pass again I guess
<Borromini>
is the branching ceremony about to kick off? :^)

Rust doesn't support musl 1.2.4 yet
<ynezz>
are those really blocking issues?
bluew has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
<ynezz>
its just a branch, it would take some time to have rc1 (2-4 weeks?) and first 23.05.0 release, so plenty of time to stabilize it
<robimarko>
base repo should be in good shape
<robimarko>
most of the packages repo as well
djfe_ has joined #openwrt-devel
<TianlingShen[m]>
<ynezz> "are those really blocking issues..." <- not really, only 4 packages need rust toolchain for now
<Borromini>
and those are not core packages, probably
<Borromini>
?
<TianlingShen[m]>
Most build failures caused by musl 1.2.4 should be fixed, but lacks runtime test for them
<robimarko>
There is no need for runtime testing, cause we are just reenabling LFS64 usage
<robimarko>
I suspect we will be seeing more and more issues as musl gets rid of more and more glibc compat layer
