How should I configure my build to be able to use apk? I am on snapshot on Linksys MX5300, I ompiled by disabling opkg and enabling apk-openssl. When I start apk update on the new build I get the message that the package database file is nonexistent.
<robimarko>
I guess you rebased to the version where APK is now default?
<robimarko>
BTW, we should really fix Firmware selector, it is currently broken in a sense that generated images do no include apk binary itself
<robimarko>
Yeah, it somehow does not include apk-mbedtls in the default package list
<robimarko>
After you add it to the list then it gets included
<lucenera>
I am on main and have no local commits. It doesn't make much sense to rebase.
<aparcar[m]>
Habbie: yea maybe we can use two different entrypoints?

aparcar[m], or one smarter one? anyway, i might PR the 'no download from docker hub' bit after testing it for 23.05, and we can take it from there
<Habbie>
i see my other PR just got merged, nice

I'm using imagebuilder to build openwrt from snapshot. With the apk change, the package build fails due to one package - usbutils requires libudev, but it doesn't automatically pick that dependency but I have to manually add it to the package list. Is that intended when there is only one provider available? full error: https://nopaste.net/uYpYGf0rLh
<schmars[m]>
totkeks robimarko: i had the same thing but with iptables/ip6tables, although for that one there's two providers. i added my preferred provider to my packagelist and it worked
<schmars[m]>
my impression was that there's simply no default provider selected anymore (which is fine i guess once you knoe it)
<totkeks>
schmars[m]: it also worked when I added libudev-zero to my package list. I was just wondering if this is intended behavior or if it should auto pick like it probably did with opkg before
<schmars[m]>
ah yes in your case it's also two providers
<schmars[m]>
i dont know if its intended :) glad it worked for you too
<totkeks>
schmars[m]: oh, it has? I only see one "provided by: libudev-zero" in the error output. How did you find the second one?
<robimarko>
\x: ipq60xx is source only so its not being built at all

<robimarko>
Yeah, only libudev-zero provides libudev
<robimarko>
So no idea why is apk being stupid

or a bug with how we build packages
<Habbie>
(i don't know, but i do know that's one of the options)

<robimarko>
Because compared to of_iomap it actually checks the memory region
<robimarko>
Yeah, devm_request_mem_region should fail with -EBUSY
<robimarko>
Cause its already asigned
<Mangix>
hmmm
<Mangix>
git diff HEAD~400 | grep of_iomap is failing. i guess I didn't break anything
<robimarko>
That being said, I dont really see a way of fixing it outside of making one driver register the whole space and then it registering the consumer as well
<Mangix>
right
<KanjiMonster>
regmap would be one way without the one driver having to register all consumers
<robimarko>
Not directly
<robimarko>
As that uses the syscon regmap which upstream hates (I agree as well=
<Mangix>
oh this is funny
<Mangix>
grep of_iomap drivers/net/ethernet returns almost all freescale drivers
