bamse: looks like you can cc me on v6 :) since uwe wants more changes
<bamse>
steev: always
<steev>
also that explains why i wasn't seeing it, i didn't realize it didn't go to the msm list, but that makes sense i guess
<bamse>
hmm, seems like i forgot to cc that
<steev>
oh, i figured it was on purpose because of it just touching the sn65...
<steev>
i like the msm list though because it doesn't tend to have multiple thousands of patches to load by pwcli
<bamse>
steev: no, i just ran get_maintainers...
<steev>
giving it a whirl here in a bit

bamse: no errors from your end, but next just keeps probe deferring; msm_dsi_manager_register: failed to register mipi dsi host for DSI 0: -517
<bamse>
steev: do you have CONFIG_DRM_PANEL_EDP=m ?
<steev>
probably didn't have it at all
<steev>
or maybe i do let me check, one sec
<steev>
oh, no i don't
<steev>
i did olddefconfig against my 5.14 config
<bamse>
dianders was kind enough to split DRM_PANEL_SIMPLE and both you and i missed the _EDP one because of that ;)
<steev>
i *thought* his config changes added that to the defconfig
<bamse>
but how did you move to next? olddefconfig? (like i did)
<steev>
yeah
<steev>
but shouldn't olddefconfig pull in new symbols with their default values? ohhh
<steev>
it doesn't pull the default values from the defconfig, it pulls them from the kconfigs
