<Erisa> hi sorry for the silly question, is it possible to get support for graphical acceleration on 8cx/Yoga 5G? does Linux 5.15 help cos supposedly it has Adreno 680 drivers or would extra work be needed on top?
<steev> i think, at the moment, it might only be in some of bamse's wip branches
<Erisa> i see
<steev> and you need a new enough mesa
<steev> i haven't booted mine up in a while
<robclark> a680 is upstream.. (as of, IIRC, v5.15)
<steev> i think i'm using sc8180x-next-20211015 from https://github.com/andersson/kernel.git
<steev> true, but i don't think the 5g stuff is in 5.15
<robclark> not sure what else is needed for general platform stuff.. some of the display stuff is still pending
<steev> for mesa, i think anything > 21.3.0
<steev> since i have 21.3.0-rc1 installed

<steev> bamse: speaking of which... did you ever track down why the trackpad goes to shit when transferring data over the wifi?

<Erisa> hmm.. i wrote the debian image on github releases to a usb (16gb, tried 128gb also) using Rufus on a Windows machine and a variety of modes (including one that does the same as dd would), but it doesnt seem to be ever booting on my Yoga 5G, just boots Windows instead when i select the USB on the F12 boot menu. i am using the port that isnt the one
<Erisa> intended for mains charging, like i remember seeing on one of the github repos
