ChanServ changed the topic of #aarch64-laptops to: Linux support for AArch64 Laptops (Asus NovaGo TP370QL - HP Envy x2 - Lenovo Mixx 630 - Lenovo Yoga C630)
<steev> leezu: yeah, that's fair. maybe we're doing something wrong, or maybe it's just an x86_64 assumption
<steev> bamse: i'm looking through the code and i'm not sure, are we missing a mutex_unlock somewhere? i don't recall the exact situation, but the battery was basically reporting nothing, so i figured, nbd, i'll just modprobe -r and then modprobe again and i ended up with https://paste.debian.net/1251523/
<steev> this was on flex5g

<steev> new bios for x13s, looks like it adds wifi support to uefi, and DASH support, whatever that is
<steev> oh and "Update charge polling time to 180msec for unexpected power leakage"
<clover[m]> Interesting, what's power leakage mean?
<robclark> it's when the power spills on the floor :-P
<steev> not sure, i'm assuming it just checks the charger status sooner?

<bamse> steev: you modprobe -r pmic_glink?
<steev> bamse: ah, no i hadn't, just qcom_battmgr
<bamse> steev: okay, i'll give that a spin before resubmitting the patches
<bamse> steev: i've run into a similar oops when cycling rpmsg_drivers bound to a channel, but i haven't found the cause yet (or looked at it enough)

<steev> clover[m]: now that you've pointed it out.... yes, it happens here too - rebooting from windows, and no amount of rebooting, gets display, have to power off
<clover[m]> Thanks for checking, yeah
<clover[m]> Why would uefi need wifi support
<steev> no idea, but i looked in bios and it also requires secureboot to be turned on to use it
<szclsya[m]> probably the dash thing needs it for out of band management
<szclsya[m]> since, you know, x13s doesn't have an Ethernet port
<steev> that does indeed seem likely
<leezu> steev: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2398 also happens on 5.17.15 and 5.18.19, so it's unrelated to the kernel versions. Whatever I had in mind with "worked previously" must have been on X11 and I didn't notice or with disabled laptop screen (in which case wayland works).

<steev> leezu: hm, i haven't tried backporting the stuff needed to 5.18 or 5.17 on the c630

<leezu> I don't think you need to try
<steev> it would require backporting the bridge changes anyway, and no thanks lol
