<robclark> HdkR: msm-next for 6.2 enables eviction (to swap or zram) by default.. we
<robclark> we've been using it for a while now on CrOS kernels (where we have some telemetry) and haven't seen issues
<robclark> but lmk if you do see issues
<robclark> *gpu eviction
<HdkR> robclark: Sadly my kernel isn't an upstream one on my HDK888 so it's a bit old. Once the X13s has a running GPU it might be hard to find a game that uses 32GB though :P
<robclark> heh, I suppose gpu eviction finds more use on 4g things running 64b chrome..
<HdkR> `Linux ubuntu 5.15.0-rc1+` Hopefully 6.0+ is more stable :D
<robclark> well, anything not rc1 is probably more stable ;-)
<HdkR> Very true
<steev> HdkR: the other thing... i cannot for the life of me get -next to boot; though currently, it dies almost immediately when building because of the sa8540p dtsi
<steev> but the good news is, we're only like 47 patches on top of -next

<hexdump0815> HdkR: in case you have too much memory for your testing on your x13s you could either ship it to me or use the mem=4096M kernel cmdline :)

<rfs613> seems there is not much activity on the mailing list anymore...
<rfs613> i have a c630 that I no longer need, if anyone is interested...
<HdkR> hexdump0815: Ah right, that mem option would let me test it aggressively
<HdkR> steev: Curious, I guess it is in a pretty harsh condition then
<HdkR> A fun question came up about using a hardware compressor for zswap. Would be fun if the Hexagon could be abused for a hardware compressor :D
<gwolf> rfs613: I have talked quite a bit about mine, let me ask some friends if any of them is interested
<gwolf> rfs613: where are you based? How much would you be willing to charge for it?
<rfs613> gwolf: i'm in Ottawa, Canada.. have not been able to find any for sale on ebay/amazon so no idea what a fair price is ;-)
<gwolf> Fair is whatever you consider a decent retribution ;-)
<gwolf> When I bought mine, there were some for ~US$350 in Ebay
<gwolf> I paid US$300 to steev, and got the extra perk of having him online in case I needed to complain about anything
<rfs613> we all owe lots to steev, his kernel is running on mine ;-)
<gwolf> Yes. He is part of the package, and it's a great deal ;-)
<rfs613> something around $300USD seems about right... bit under half the new price...
<gwolf> OK, I'll ask around, and tell you if I get anybody interested
<gwolf> I don't know if you are a permanent dweller of this channel -- care to share (in private is OK) your mail with me?
<rfs613> i'm normally on the channel, though not always looking
<gwolf> OK, that should be enough then :)
<gwolf> Anyway, got the mail already (-:

<selmer443[m]> Clover you’re ironrobin on GitHub?
<clover[m]> yes
<selmer443[m]> Wow, thanks for making that reddit post awhile back. Your post convinced me to buy an X13s :)
