did you check the changelog for his config that mentions modules needing to be in the initrd?

Caterpillar: if it's anything like what I've experienced on x1 carbon, they just reset the default boot target.

Assuming you've added a new entry rather than editing the one for windows, then it is just a matter of going into the BIOS and changing the default back to "debian" (or whatever you called your entry).
