ChanServ changed the topic of #aarch64-laptops to: Linux support for AArch64 Laptops (Asus NovaGo TP370QL - HP Envy x2 - Lenovo Mixx 630 - Lenovo Yoga C630)
<derzahl> theres like almost no dev going on with it from what I can tell. surprisingly. They have been unloading them for pretty cheap, bootloader unlocked by default
<derzahl> no custom roms even
<derzahl> cool little device
<qzed> I know that someone's making windows work on it...
<derzahl> good call steev, there is some activity on PMOS https://wiki.postmarketos.org/index.php?title=Microsoft_Surface_Duo_(microsoft-duo)
<derzahl> qzed: i believe MS intended for it to run windows from the beginning but that got scrapped at the last minute
<qzed> possible

<Caterpillar> may I ask why the f. the X13s goes to 0% battery if it is shutted down and not being used for weeks?
<HdkR> I loves having some terrible power-off draw
<Caterpillar> discharging batteries to 0% destroys them on long term
<HdkR> You're right
<Caterpillar> HdkR: are you experiencing that too?
<HdkR> Yes
<Caterpillar> wtf
<danielt> I guess an important question is whether X13s disacharges like this if you reboot back to windows and then power off?
<Caterpillar> . Later I will open a forum thread
<Caterpillar> danielt: I am only using windows
<Caterpillar> well "using"... I am not using such laptop at all
<danielt> I've used mine for at minimum five days a week since I got it ;-)
<Caterpillar> having such self discharge problem is not acceptable at all, I am seriously thinking to resell my X13s

<clover[m]> Lenovo will probably give you a new one if you open a support ticket
<steev> those same file names are used by the x13s... so maybe the bluetooth driver is getting support?
<steev> and i can stop my work on it

<steev> qzed: in your -next testing, are you seeing hpage crashes?
<qzed> no
<steev> blergh, okay
<steev> when i try to e.g. compile a kernel for the c630 on the thinkpad, with 0117 and 0119, i get a hugepage crash of some sort, it's still trying to reboot at the moment, but i'll try to grab the log after and pass it up to... somewhere
<qzed> I haven't noticed anything like that, but then I haven't pushed it lately

<ajhalaney[m]> steev: i just saw that on my sa8540p-ride when testing some multiport usb stuff
<ajhalaney[m]> unlike you it burned hard enough i couldn't get a clean console output lol
<steev> :( well, feel free to use mine :D
<bamse> hmm, i just booted 0119 cleanly...what did you guys do to trigger that hugepage thing?
<steev> i was running kmake LOCALVERSION="-audio" bindeb-pkg
<steev> where kmake expands out to make O=${build_dir} -j "${make_jobs}" $*
<steev> make_jobs being make_jobs=$(expr 2 \* $(cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep -c '^processor')) and build_dir being ../build/${b} where ${b} is branch name
<ajhalaney[m]> I just booted the board, it actually failed to boot that time and wouldn't find the console
<ajhalaney[m]> so nothing special
<ajhalaney[m]> next boot worked and luckily so did my test
<bamse> hmm, okay...i guess i was lucky then
<steev> i've only seen it twice
<steev> once on 13 and once on 17
<ajhalaney[m]> i was on 0119 fwiw
<steev> er, yeah, 0119
<steev> 17 and 19, 13 didn't boot
<harvestz[m]> anyone using one of these? https://people.linaro.org/~manivannan.sadhasivam/lenovo_x13s/
<harvestz[m]> not sure if it'll be any better than my current setup
derzahl has joined #aarch64-laptops
<steev> that's what i used to do my initial install
<steev> do not use the crd iso unless you actually have a crd
<harvestz[m]> idk what a crd is so I'll stick with the debian-11-arm64-DVD-2.iso haha
<steev> auto board? dev board? something along those lines
<bamse> "compute reference device"
<steev> dev
<bamse> it looks like a laptop, quacks like a laptop ...
<steev> oh, i figured it looked like a sheet of paper with every possible thing you could plug in to it... available
<steev> is that the BY?
<steev> oh, that's cute, i like the red
<steev> i guess it's not lenovo so it wouldn't have lenovo's numbering
