bamse: thanks, replaced patchset with a new one, however it spams in kmsf and battery still doesn't work, but I suppose it is some dts thing

jenneron[m]: why does your /pmic-glink node have connector@0 and @1 defined, but no ports?
<bamse>
jenneron[m]: just drop the connector nodes as well, if you don't populate them appropriately
<jenneron[m]>
when it is not included in initramfs
<jenneron[m]>
wifi is a bigger problem
<jenneron[m]>
i have debian sid with linaro repository, qrtr-ns, pd-mapper, tqftpserv and rmtfs running, but ath10k doesn't appear in kmsg
<jenneron[m]>
I'm missing something on both devices
<steev>
fwiw, debian has all of those packaged in testing+ already, you don't need to stay with the linaro repository for them, i'm not sure that's helpful at all
<clover[m]>
nice glitch art
<bamse>
jenneron[m]: i see, well someone added that debug/error print there since i tested that
<bamse>
jenneron[m]: but the connector@[01] nodes doesn't do anything useful when you don't have a ports node within them linking them to the relevant other nodes in the system, so feed free to just drop them for now

Has anyone tried hooking up X13s (running Linux) to a ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock? If so how many of the ports worked ;-)
<bamse>
danielt: have you tried flipping the cable around?
<danielt>
I don't have a ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock just yet... I have a much older dock it works well but is a little fussy about charging (most of the time it charges fine except when it doesn't).
<bamse>
danielt: i have a usb-c based monitor with builtin ethernet...only sometimes does the ethernet show up, and flipping the cable seems helpful
<bamse>
danielt: but it could also be that in one direction the link training fails so the monitor rejects the host...
<danielt>
bamse: I don't actually recall if I had flipping-it-over problems (I would have flipped it over without thinking about it when first setting it up).
<bamse>
danielt: the patches to flip the SS lanes in the phy has not been circulated widely, so in most trees you only get DP in one cable direction
<danielt>
bamse: Yes, just tested it... I only have DP in one orientation (and I'm currently running a steev 6.1.1 kernel but with a more debianized config)
<bamse>
danielt: i've started poking at it, but prioritizing getting the current stuff landed first...
<bamse>
danielt: the reason why it's not on the list is that orientation switching ties into the mode switching, and i couldn't figure out how to reliably switch from 4 lane DP to 2+2 USB/DP combo...USB only sometimes came back
<bamse>
danielt: but now the combo phy driver has been rewritten, so it seems more reasonable to implement what the documentation asks for
<jenneron[m]>
btw can anyone share some firmware file (e.g. cdsp or mpss) from flex 5g? i have yoga 5g and i use its firmware, but i want to try flex 5g firmware to confirm that they are compatible
<danielt>
bamse: That's one of the reasons I was worried whether the Thinkpad dock would work (being a branded one then in principle it could be implemented 4xDP only).
<bamse>
danielt: but if it has usb-ports as well, it must either be operating in combo mode, or dynamically switch depending on what you have connected...or it's thunderbolt/usb4
