Glanzmann: you mean DPMS / screen blanking? since a while but I guess nobody used it besides me
<Glanzmann>
Yes, probably. I was asking a few times but at that point it was not ready. Anyway, nice work.
<Glanzmann>
jannau: Only, if it is not to much trouble, can you pack up your 'gpu kernel' as a tar ball (/lib/modules/* and /boot/vmlinuz*) and load it somewhere than I would try to run it on my mini and see if it works/gives me a different message during boot.
<Glanzmann>
I also throught that I have the wrong stub version, but I checked it, I have 12.3.

Glanzmann: Did you disable CONFIG_FB_EFI? Also maybe CONFIG_DRM_APPLE instead of CONFIG_DRM_SIMPLEDRM?
<Glanzmann>
Probably not, let me check.
<_jannau_>
that wouldn't explain problems with the GPU (agx)
<Glanzmann>
CONFIG_FB_EFI was already disabled. CONFIG_DRM_SIMPLEDRM=y but I think dcp does take over correctly because powersaving and setting new mode does work. :-)
<Glanzmann>
jannau: I have not yet tried the m1 air. I can try that later and report back.

<r0ni>
is there any new modules that need to be in the initrd with these 6.1 kernels vs the 5.19 one?

_jannau_: You mean, the gpu driver is intependent from whether we use DRM_SIMPLEDRM oder DRM_APPLE and should work with both?
<ashi>
I would join you and test, but I guess it is futile on an Air M2
