<hexchain> Hello, I'm having some problems with a Gentoo install on an m2pro mbp16. I have keyboard and usb in u-boot and grub/sd-boot, but the system boots into userspace without keyboard and usb (and it automatically resets after a few seconds). I've run emerge --config asahi-kernel and update-m1n1 multiple times, but cannot seem to fix it. What could be the problem?
<chadmed_> automatic restart sounds like the WDT driver is not being loaded, which sounds like missing kernel modules. have you got asahi-meta installed?
<hexchain> chadmed_: yes, I do
<hexchain> but let me check the initramfs
<hexchain> chadmed_: there is apple_wdt.ko in the initramfs
<chadmed_> can you try get a kernel log from a boot by sshing or using a usb keyboard or something
<hexchain> chadmed_: unfortunately it doesn't seem possible, as the machine boots without usb and network

<chadmed_> ok theres definitely something up. good thing ive got a livecd that works now, you can boot it and mount your root to do some diagnostics
<hexchain> chadmed_: I can make my way into the rootfs, using the leftover kernel and initramfs when setting up asahi-gentoosupport
<hexchain> okay I think I see the problem. I've upgrade to systemd 256 but did not upgrade dracut, so the libkmod.so isn't pulled in due to the linking -> dlopen change in systemd, which caused module loading to fail
<hexchain> upgrading dracut to 103 solved the problem. silly me!
