I was working on a USB-C PD sniffing device for some else and just checked up on the page to see if it could run dual purpose as an alternative to the central scrutinizer

yeah I've heard the stories about people with screwed up usb cables plugging those into a mac and having it damage something

not even that, just stupid crap like how on the intel macs the display backlight power pin was next to the edp data pins on the top housing connector

so if you had bad luck and a slightly heat warped bottom case you could short 50 V straight into the display controller
